Glad to see Kraft using the resources of the Patriots to help the effort. I'd like to think the same email was sent to members of the season ticket waiting list. Giving them a discounted game may lure some back for additional games. |

A similar mail was sent out to the waiting list with the same offer, $20 tickets for the Indiana game. |

| having a great tailgating atmosphere will be key to attracting and building the emass fan base. keep the tickets cheap and encourage people to have great tailgates. |

Does Chronicle still run up there? They could probably do a whole show on what the move means for the State University.

I posted on Chronicle's FB page last week. I asked "Any thoughts on doing a segment on UMASS Football and their move to the FBS division, playing at Gillette and what it means for the University and the Commonwealth?"
I got a response this morning, simply saying "Hi Brian, it's too soon to say, but thanks for the suggestion."
Feel free to go over there and express that you'd like to see a segment like that, either by liking or commenting on my post, or posting on your own! _________________ Stop waiting for UMass to do something big and help UMass do something big. - Shades |

I'm sure Chronicle wants to see the turnout and get some game footage.
Understand, though, that there may be a critical analysis of the move. I don't think they will highlight only the good things about the move; they may talk about some of the negatives. Just be prepared. |

Of course, which is part of the reason why Chronicle is such a good show. I'd expect there to be a part that says "but not everyone is happy..." _________________ Stop waiting for UMass to do something big and help UMass do something big. - Shades |

Will do. Will you or anyone else be doing so as well? I certainly have no issues being the lone ranger, but other voices help as well. _________________ Stop waiting for UMass to do something big and help UMass do something big. - Shades |

Awesome News!! This kind of support from the Kraft's is something I have always thought would be key in how successful this move to FBS in Gillette will be. IMHO there could not be a better target audience than those on the season ticket waiting list.
Side note I looked at ticket availability for the Indiana game http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/010048E2CE927C61?artistid=833822&majorcatid=10004&minorcatid=8 and noticed a couple things that maybe you all could help with.
1) Section 107 is not available but 106 and 108 have high availability. Does that mean that section is sold out, or being used for something else? I'm sure there is a simple answer but????
2) Club seats still only available through UMass as season tix. Will they be opening it up for individual game sales?
3) Has there been an update on season ticket sales numbers?
Looks like a lot more individual game tickets have been sold for the first game versus the 2nd http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/010048E39AB23CE8?artistid=833822&majorcatid=10004&minorcatid=8 I think the die hards need to start with a happy weather dance for IU game asap to get some momentum attendance wise the rest of the season!!! _________________ UConn girls are........................... Just bought a block of 20 tix for the first home game. Inviting my friends who haven't jumped on board the seaon ticket bandwagon yet to come on down and join the fun. Group rate is only $10 a ticket, how the hell can you beat that!! Of course I'll be looking down on them from the club seats but hopefully a few of them will realize the program needs the support of everyone possible. I'm going to teel the Athletic department to come by my tailgate after I get them all boozed up to hit them up for season tix!! _________________ UMass '87 |

This may not necessarily help attract more fans, but it will certainly get UMASS Football noticed...

Media Day is tomorrow, but I can't help but think an opportunity is missed by having it in Amherst, not at Gillette. Understanding that there may be logistical issues (stadium availability, busing the entire team down and back, etc.). _________________ I wrote this ... it's gotta be true. |

I thought they would have a practice or two there in the pre season to get used to the new home. That might have made for a good opportunity..... I"m sure there is a good reason but agree that the more they can hype Gillette the better! _________________ UConn girls are........................... Huskies!! |
