Saw Natalie Cole at the beautifully restored Hanover Theater in Worcester last night. It didn't take long before she said how great it was to be back in her old stomping grounds, and she specifically mentioned the good times she had at UMass, which drew a nice cheer.

Professors say sleep is beneficial. Yet while I was at UMass it was optional.

Our Maureen Stanton's book is picked as a "great summer read." It is #9 on this list. Some folks here might want to read the free excerpt.

And, no, I am not a regular reader of parade.com.

Our own Brianna Scurry is interviewed in a NY Daily News article about women's soccer. Mentions of UMASS and Coach Jim Rudy and a very nice picture of Brianna.

Was the question: What is the previous name of the university that now has "hyphenAmherst" in its name even though polls say 98.7% of alums that give money are against it?"

UMass mentioned today on the Howard Stern Show.

An interview with Chris 'Mad dog' Russo. He mentioned how he just hired Steve Phillips on his Mad Dog Radio Channel. He stated that Steve Phillips has a son who is a linebacker at UMass.

Professor Goldman, a respected political science professor, with an article that the left will appreciate and the right will cite. As a political science alum, it's great to read about the department's published work. I will however withold my opinion of whether Obama's choices were merited.

On The Today Show this morning, 4 guys from UMASS showed up in the crowd saying they left Amherst at 2:00 AM because one of them had never been to NY, so the other three decided to show him the sights. Three of them were dressed in UMASS apparrel and there was mention of winning some kind of "prize", but the hosts wouldn't let them say what it was.

UMASS was mentioned on the new episode of How to Make it In America tonight... not really for a good reason, as it was a drug reference, but a mention none the less.
