If you are Theo, who do you keep & who do you trade at first base. Do you keep the gold glove guy in Mientkiewicz who can give you a solid bat as well, or do you go with the streaky, clubhouse guy in Millar? Personally if you can't get them to agree to platoon at first, I'd keep the glove of Doug M. The guy can put up some decent hitting numbers as he's shown in Minnesota and the glove is invaluable. If Pokey earns a starting spot at second & with Renteria at short & Mientkiewicz at first, & Billy Mueller at third, this infield could be the best defensive infield in the league. And they all should be better than average hitters with the possible exception of Pokey.

Sorry, just realized Pokey may not be back. Still who would you keep?

It's first base, you go with the offensive guy, Millar.

Here are some numbers to consider:

Minky's career OBP is .363, career SLG is .404 for an OPS of .768.
Millar's career OBP is .366, career SLG is .491 foran OPS of .857.

Minky is 30 years old and makes 2.8M. Millar is 33 and makes 3.3M.

I didn't post defensive stats, but anyone who knows anything about baseball knows that Minky has a decided advantage in the field.

Considering all of this, if I had to keep one, I keep Minky.

I keep recalling Bill Buckner (and he doesn't deserve to be remembered for that one error, but that is life in the limelight). I'd keep the glove.
