he road trip began over a week ago. It involved planes, buses, cars and every other form of transportation you can think of. Now, after the Feb. 12 contest against Florida State began the Massachusetts men's basketball team's (10-12, 5-6 Atlantic 10) southern journey, the Minutemen travel from Washington to upstate New York to face Saint Bonaventure (7-16, 1-11 A-10) on Sunday at 2 p.m.
The Bonnies have just one win in the conference season and will be a significant step down for UMass after Wednesday's game against the mighty George Washington Colonials.
This game, however, will not be a show-up-and-win affair for the Minutemen. They have suffered three-straight losses to worthy opponents. They have played well in the last two games against the Seminoles and Colonials on the road, but didn't have enough gas to finish the job.
Now, on the last legs of the longest road-trip of the season, the Minutemen face a down-and-out opponent that can take the role of spoiler if UMass doesn't take care of business on Sunday.
"We've been on the road a lot lately and that's something that concerns me," UMass coach Travis Ford said in a phone interview yesterday. "It's been a very tough and grueling schedule as far as how much we've been on the road. The biggest concern for me is that we respond and have enough energy after being on the road for so long."
After coming so close against GW - those who remember last year's upset would have had flashbacks - a game against a lesser opponent could be the perfect remedy to a rough stretch with hard losses and long days; or it could be an opportunity for the Minutemen to fall further from the winning path and play down to their competition.
"It is a grind. We're in a tough stretch," Ford said. "I think they're doing well mentally and physically. They understand what's at stake, coming up we do have some games that we need to win. Hopefully, we can put all of the excuses aside."
Ford knows that this UMass team is low on talent and was beat by better teams in Florida St. and GW. But the Minutemen, by Ford's admission, played well in both contests and competed in games where most had written them off. It would have been easier if those two losses didn't come in the middle of an extended trip away from home, where constant travel is draining and staying in a routine can be a difficult task.
The Minutemen, despite having nothing to show for their efforts except two L's in the loss column, played good basketball after recovering from La Salle's 65-44 thrashing at the Mullins Center.
"Were disappointed we lost but I think we did some really good things in both games," Ford said. "I really liked the way we competed. We ran our offense a lot better. When you're on the road against very, very good teams, you have to play perfect. But we played really well so hopefully those games can give us some confidence."
St. Bonaventure has been the A-10's punching bag for the last couple of months, it's only win was against lowly Richmond, and UMass has a chance to grab a win from a weaker conference opponent. But after inconsistent play this season and a young back court that is prone to turnovers (29 team turnovers against GW), nobody is taking anything for granted.
The Minutemen had an opportunity to shock the Colonials and hung with them until the final buzzer. UMass pulled within one point on two occasions but couldn't get that momentum basket to tie the game or pull ahead - a couple of bounces here and there and fans might be talking about the second upset of GW in two years. Ford will be reviewing game tapes over the next couple of days to see if he can dig up any positives from Wednesday's game.
"We had our chances to win the [GW] game," Ford said. "We got in some serious foul trouble at the end. When you go on the road and you play against the No. 7 ranked team in the country and you turn it over 29 times and only lose by three, then there has to be some positives."
MHERST - Home briefly Friday afternoon between the second and third cities on his team's long road stretch, University of Massachusetts coach Travis Ford wasn't relishing the idea of getting back on a bus.
The destination this time was Olean, N.Y., where the Minutemen face St. Bonaventure at 2 p.m. Sunday.
''I've been around college basketball for a long time as a player and a coach. I can't remember going through anything like this, as long as we've been gone. We probably shouldn't have come back home for this one,'' said Ford, whose team lost 73-63 at Florida State Sunday and 69-66 at George Washington Wednesday.
''It's good to get one day of classes in,'' Ford added. ''But to turn around and head right back out on a seven-hour bus ride has not been good for our basketball team. These have been tough games on the road against extremely tough competition. The scenario of our schedule, period, hasn't been good since it started.''
The schedule has dealt the Minutemen (10-12, 5-6 Atlantic 10) three straight defeats. They will try to earn their second road win of the season against the Bonnies (7-16, 1-11 A-10) who are in last place in the conference. St. Bonaventure had lost 11 straight before surprising Richmond 71-57 Sunday. The Bonnies then lost 74-62 to La Salle Wednesday.
Ford said his team needs a win to get some positive momentum going.
''We need one bad. There's nothing better than getting over losing. One win,'' Ford said. ''I'm sure St. Bonaventure felt that way (when they beat Richmond) even though they'd lost 10 or 11 in a row. One win puts you on top of the world. We need that.
''We tell our guys to keep their heads up,'' Ford continued. ''They want to win, but I think they see potential. I heard someone say 'We didn't play our best game and we lost by three at the No. 7 team in the country.' So I think they're disappointed, but I don't think they're down.''
The Bonnies are 6-5 this season at the Reilly Center.
Ford said he is impressed with what he's seen of St. Bonaventure.
''I watched three games and I'm sitting there trying to figure out why they're losing,'' Ford said. ''They have seniors on their basketball team. They've been in every game. They get great crowds at home. They have played better lately.''
Senior Ahmad Smith leads St. Bonaventure with 15.8 points per game. Sophomore Michael Lee is a candidate for the league's most improved player. After barely making an impact as a freshman, he is averaging 12.2 points and 6.8 rebounds.
Senior Paul Williams, a transfer from Siena, joins Lee up front and is averaging 10.1 points and 7.2 rebounds.
''Ahmad Smith, gosh the kid can play. I'd take him. He's really good,'' Ford said. ''Lee is as good any sophomore in our league.''

LEAN, N.Y. (AP) - Junior Rashaun Freeman had a season-high tying 25 points and career-high 19 rebounds Sunday to lead Massachusetts to a 72-64 win over St. Bonaventure in Atlantic 10 play.
Stephane Lasme added 11 points and a career-high 15 rebounds as UMass (11-12, 6-6) ended a three-game losing streak.
Freeman helped break a 46-46 tie with eight points in a 10-4 run that put UMass up 56-50 with 8:19 to play.
The Bonnies (7-17, 1-12) never got closer than seven the rest of the game. UMass took a lead as large as 10 in the second half.
Led by five points from Ahmad Smith, St. Bonaventure opened the second half with an 8-0 run for a 40-37 lead. Smith led the Bonnies with 21 points, and Michael Lee had 20.
The Minutemen outrebounded the Bonnies 54-33. Freeman and Lasme combined to outrebound their entire St. Bona team, 34-33.
Freeman was a beast in the second half as he piled up 14 points and 13 rebounds in the period. With 11 offensive rebounds in the game, Freeman became the first Minuteman since Ajmal Basit to have 10 offensive rebounds in a game. Basit had 10 against Georgetown on Dec. 4, 1996.
The last time a UMass player had more than 19 rebounds came 30 years ago as Jim Town hauled in 27 against Boston College on Dec. 12, 1976.
Lasme's second half was equally impressive as he scored all of his 11 points in the half and had 11 rebounds in the second 20 minutes. Lasme has two of his isx career double-doubles at St. Bonaventure.
The win was just the second of the season on the road for UMass as they Minutemen also beat Duquesne on Jan. 7. The win also wrapped up a span of 18 out of 27 days on the road for UMass as the Minutemen played six of eight away from the Mullins Center.
ith the scored tied 46-46 with 13:10 left in the game, Rashaun Freeman scored six straight points to give UMass a 52-46 lead they would never relinquish on their way to a 72-64 win at the Reilly Center on Sunday afternoon. Freeman tied his season high 25 points and grabbed a career-high 19 rebounds in the game. UMass dominated the boards, outrebounding St. Bonaventure 54-33. Stephane Lasme racked up 11 points and a career-high 15 rebounds. Freeman and Lasme combined to outrebound the Bonnies, 34-33.
With 19 rebounds, Freeman fell one short of becoming the first UMass player with 20 rebounds in 30 years as Jim Town hauled in 27 boards on Dec. 12, 1976 vs. Boston College. Freeman's 11 offensive rebounds were the most by a UMass player since Ajmal Basit had 10 against Georgetown on Dec. 4, 1996.
* UMass won its second road game of the season after losing six in a row and 10 of the previous 11. The only other road win came at Duquesne on Jan. 7, winning 82-63.
* After scoring just 3.8 points per game over the last three games, A-10 First Team performer Rashaun Freeman returned to form with 25 points. It was his 15th game this season in double-figures and 61st in 80 career games. Five of those games have come against the Bonnies. Freeman had 11 points in the first half and added 14 in the second half.
* Freeman had a run of scoring 15 of UMass' 23 points bridging the two halves.
* It was Freeman's seventh game this season with 20 or more points and 19th of his career. It was his second game this season with 25 points.
* Freeman also grabbed 19 rebounds, for his 10th double-double this season and 29th of his career. It was his first double-double in four games.
* Freeman had 11 offensive rebounds, marking the first time a UMass player had double-figures in offensive rebounds since Ajmal Basit had 10 vs. Georgetown on Dec. 4, 1996.
* Stephane Lasme scored 11 points and grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds, his fourth double-double this season and sixth of his career. His first-ever came at St. Bonaventure last season.
* Since returning to the starting line-up Brandon Thomas has continued his strong play. He tallied eight points. After averaging 2.3 points in seven games off the bench, Thomas is averaging (10.3) over the last three games.
* Jeff Viggiano also scored in double-figures for the third game in a row with 10. He is averaging (11.0) over that stretch.
* Dante Milligan grabbed seven rebounds, his ninth time with five or more rebounds this season.
* UMass shot 53.3 percent in the first half from the floor and 57.1 from 3-point range.
* UMass has won the last four games against St. Bonaventure and leads the all-time series 35-17.
"Our last two games at Florida State and George Washington, our guards carried us. Against St. Bonaventure, our bigs carried us. Now its time for everyone gets on the same page. We need everyone to play well in the same game because we are going to need it against Charlotte.
"Again, I am proud of our effort, but 23 turnovers and shooting 48 percent from the foul line we did not help ourselves at all. It is just very frustrating to see that. But when your outrebound an opponent by 21 rebounds - and they (St. Bonaventure) usually outrebound their opponents by three per game - when you get 19 rebounds from Freeman and 15 from Lasme, good things are going to happen. Now we have to figure out how to cut down the turnovers and make free throws."
Ford on the missed opportunities:
"We are not helping ourselves a whole lot. Thank goodness we do play hard and we do rebound and our guys listen to the scouting report and try to take away the other team's strength, we did that. If we are going to finish the season strong, we have to cut out the turnovers and missed free throws. We have to make better decisions and free throws are just practice, practice, practice.
"We will take the win and get out of here. The road has not been kind to us. We have been in the road for 18 of the last 27 days, the end of a stretch of 6-of-8 games in the road, a seven-hour bus ride, coming up to Olean, N.Y., where its zero degrees and been snowing, our guys could have made excuses but it was a must win. He sustained a pretty good effort with solid rebounding and going after the basketball."
Rashaun Freeman on his game
"This game was personal for me as the fans and teammates know I have struggled the last couple of games. My focus was to bounce back and lead our team as a I usually do."
Freeman on how he was getting open and getting so many chances:
"It wasn't about talent, it was all about being aggressive and beating their bigmen to the boards. I think Stephane and I did that very well."
Freeman on his boardwork with Lasme:
"It just worked out that I was better on the offensive boards and he was better on the defensive boards. I know I am out their for one reason, to get the rebound and score. That's what I have to do for the rest of the season for our team to be successful."
Freeman on winning on the road:
"It was important to win on the road. Coach stressed to us to put everything else aside and start a new season with this game. Heading into the A-10 Tournament, the season started today."
Freeman on his domination in the second half:
"I knew I had to be aggressive and I smelled blood when I was going at (Williams). That's what you have to do, what you do in the second half is what gets you the win."
LEAN, N.Y. -- It was all getting to Rashaun Freeman. Family problems and academic stress started to crack the University of Massachusetts forward, and it showed.
The junior was in a tailspin on the court for three games, failing to reach double digits in points as the worst slump of his career grew.
''I just had to put that all aside and just give the effort I know I can," he said.
He did yesterday, setting a career high with 19 rebounds and tying his season high with 25 points in UMass' 72-64 win over hapless St. Bonaventure before 3,823 fans at the Reilly Center. It is the Minutemen's first win in four games and only their second in eight.
''I'm just ready to start playing good again," Freeman said. ''I had a lot of stress on me. Usually around this time I'm in a little bit of a slump. But never like this. I was just anxious to get out of it."
Freeman got out of it early, scoring the game's first basket and then 8 straight points early in the second half. His 11 offensive rebounds are the most by a UMass player since Ajmal Basit grabbed 10 Dec. 4, 1996, against Georgetown.
Stephane Lasme added 11 points and a career-high 15 rebounds as the Minutemen (11-12, 6-6 Atlantic 10) outrebounded the Bonnies (7-17, 1-12), 54-33.
''Ray and Stephane did most of their damage just off getting missed shots," UMass coach Travis Ford said. ''We weren't able to execute our offense at all. And that was a tribute to St. Bonaventure. We could not get in our offense; we could not run our plays. Luckily, those two guys decided they were going to rebound the ball."
''When me and Stephane come to play," Freeman said, ''I feel in my heart we can play with anybody. It's just about striking first. If you strike first and you smell the blood of the big men from the other team, then it's an easy advantage. I definitely smelled it."
Freeman's play the last three games was wretched; he scored 11 points and had 21 rebounds while getting lost in double teams and different defensive styles. During UMass' 65-44 loss to La Salle Feb. 8, he went 0 for 8 from the field.
''I definitely had it in me," Freeman said. ''I know what kind of player I am, but the confidence for the last couple of games has been missing, and I think I found it. After a couple of good practices, I think I'll be right back on track."
Ford said he spoke with Freeman twice before yesterday's win.
''I told him he needs to put all excuses aside and go out and be the player we know he can be and make things happen," he said. ''Don't wait for your teammates to make things happen for you, don't make me call a play for you.
''It was all effort," Ford added. ''We didn't run one play for him."
UMass completed a stretch of six road games (one win) in eight matches. With a weak opponent yesterday and three of the next four games in Amherst, Ford told his team it could start a run.
''Before we left the locker room [I said], 'Tonight needs to be the beginning,' " he said. ''We put ourselves in a chance to get a decent seed [in the conference tourney]."
''We needed that win just to get ourselves back," Lasme said.
After nearly beating one of the nation's best teams Wednesday in George Washington, UMass struggled for stretches against one of the worst yesterday.
Jeff Viggiano's free throw tied the game at 42 almost four minutes into the second half after Isiah Carson slammed his hand on the court after he fouled Viggiano and drew a technical. St. Bonaventure took two brief leads several minutes later, but UMass roared back. Freeman's basket with 12:32 left gave the Minutemen a 48-46 advantage and the lead for good.
Ahmad Smith led St. Bonaventure with 21 points.
LEAN- Progress is measured in small doses these days at St. Bonaventure.
The Bonnies fell to 7-17 with Sunday's 72-64 loss to Massachusetts before 3,823 in the Reilly Center. They've dropped 13 of their last 14 overall and are 1-12 in the Atlantic 10. With three games left, Bona is a shoo-in to miss the conference tournament next month in Cincinnati (only 12 of the 14 teams qualify).
But don't think coach Anthony Solomon is going to get down when pondering those numbers. Just 16-64 overall and 5-40 in conference play in three seasons, Solomon has maintained unwavering confidence in his quest to revive a program suffering the effects of its 2003 recruiting scandal. Solomon still has three years left on his contract and St. Bonaventure finally gets off probation in July.
"Our overall talent base has improved," Solomon said after the latest defeat. "We have some young men that went home over the summer and improved their games. We're continuing to take it step by step. Is the progress we want to make as quick as anybody would like? Certainly not. But there is progress being made and we're going to continue to represent this university in a way that shows we're of high character."
The Bonnies went 6-4 in non-conference games after going 1-11 last year. And even though they're headed for their second straight one-win season in league play, their overall numbers are better in several areas.
Bona's scoring average is up (61.4 to 67.5) and its defensive yield is down (77.4 to 72.9). Last year, the Bonnies had 87 more turnovers than assists. This year, they're even (323-323).
The area they've made the biggest improvement in is rebounding but that was their Achilles heel Sunday. Bona was outboarded by 4.6 per game last year but was plus-1.5 this season coming into this game. Not anymore.
UMass pillaged Bona on the glass, 54-33, and grabbed 21 offensive boards. Rashaun Freeman, a 6-foot-9 junior, had 25 points and a career-high 19 rebounds while 6-8 junior Stephane Lasme had 11 points and a career-high 15 boards. Freeman was two boards shy of the RC opponent record of 21 set by Syracuse's Rudy Hackett in 1975.
"They overpowered us," Solomon admitted.
"They're big guys, especially Freeman," said Bona forward Michael Lee, who gave up only one inch to Freeman but is 70 pounds lighter than UMass' 255-pounder. "We were trying to do the best we could boxing them out but unfortunately they got a couple of long rebounds . . . and it really hurt us in the long run."
What also hurt was an ill-timed technical by Bona guard Isiah Carson. The Bonnies had opened the second half with a 10-2 run to take a 42-39 lead when Carson was called for an iffy blocking foul with 16:17 left. Knocked on his back, the sophomore barked at officials and slapped at the floor to draw the "T". UMass (11-12, 6-6) hit three free throws on that possession to tie the game and took the lead for good a couple minutes later with a 10-2 run that featured three Freeman putbacks.
"We don't approve of technicals but there were a lot of swings in the game," Solomon said. "That was one of many. Even after that happened, we had our share of opportunities."
Senior guard Ahmad Smith had another solid game for Bona with 21 points while Lee had 20. Smith pushed his career total to 1,215 points and moved into 23rd place on the school's all-time list. With the A-10 tournament apparently gone, he has just three more games left in his career.
"There's always something to play for and it's not over yet anyway," Smith insisted. "We just know about Bonaventure pride and playing hard for coach Solomon."
Solomon briefly choked back his words pondering the end of Smith's career. Smith - one of two players left from the scandal days - has just one home game left, March 1 against George Washington.
"I'm just disappointed for Ahmad Smith," Solomon said. "He's stayed here through a lot. The energy he puts out and the leadership I ask for from him, even through these times, means a lot to me."
LEAN, N.Y. - It had been awhile since the University of Massachusetts' vaunted frontcourt tandem of Rashaun Freeman and Stephane Lasme played well at the same time. But in a game Sunday that Minuteman coach Travis Ford called a must win, the two junior big men came to life.
Freeman and Lasme combined to outrebound the entire St. Bonaventure team by themselves and helped UMass overcome turnover problems and beat the Bonnies 72-64 at the Reilly Center.
'When you get that kind of effort out of your big men, you're going to win a lot of basketball games,' Ford said. 'I was very proud of those guys.'
Freeman delivered his best game of the year with a season-high 25 points and a career-high 19 rebounds. He turned 11 offensive rebounds into 16 points.
'I'm ready to start playing well again,' Freeman said. 'Usually around this time (of the season), I'm in a little bit of a slump, but never like this. I was just anxious to break out of it. I just had to give the effort I know I can give and this is what happened.'
St. Bonaventure coach Anthony Solomon tipped his cap to Freeman.
'He's a man. We knew coming he he's an all-conference player,' Solomon said. 'He went after every missed shot and got many of them.'
Once St. Bonaventure began paying closer attention to Freeman, things opened up for Lasme, who had 11 points, 15 rebounds and three blocked shots.
'Before the game Ray and I talked,' Lasme said. 'We felt our frontcourt was superior and more athletic. We felt like we needed to get as many rebounds as we could and just crush them on the glass.'
Mission accomplished. The Minutemen outrebounded the Bonnies 54-33.
Ahmad Smith scored 21 points to lead St. Bonaventure, while Michael Lee added 18 points and a team-high six rebounds.
The win ended the Minutemen's three-game overall losing streak and their six-game road losing streak. UMass (11-12, 6-6 Atlantic 10) returns home to play Charlotte at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Mullins Center.
Ford said he knew his team was weary from its long road stretch and recent losing streak, but called the game a must win.
'It was important to get that W to get a road win and to feel good about ourselves,' Ford said. 'It was important to get back to .500 in the league. This has to get us some confidence.'
After leading 37-32 at the half, the Minutemen watched St. Bonaventure (7-17, 1-12 A-10) open the second half on a 10-2 run to take a 42-39 lead. As he drove to the basket, Jeff Viggiano (10 points) was fouled by Isiah Carson. Frustrated, Carson slammed his hand on the floor and got a technical foul.
James Life converted the two technical free throws and Viggiano made one of his two to tie the game.
The sequence seemed to drain the Bonnies' energy and ignite UMass. After the teams traded baskets twice, Freeman scored all eight points of an 8-2 run that gave the Minutemen the lead for good. Despite struggling from the line (12-for-25) and turning the ball over 23 times, the Minutemen were able to hold St. Bonaventure off down the stretch.
Smith scored 11 of the Bonnies' first 16 points as the Minutemen fell behind 16-9 early. St. Bonaventure maintained its edge for most of the half and led 26-21 with just under six minutes left. But UMass closed the half on a 16-6 run to lead 37-32 at the break.
'I told the guys when we left the locker room that this needs to be the beginning,' Ford said. 'We've put ourselves in position that we can get a decent seed (in the Atlantic 10 Tournament). We needed this win.'

LEAN, N.Y. - During a time-out with 11 minutes, 59 seconds remaining in Sunday's game, University of Massachusetts coach Travis Ford huddled his team in front of the bench.
We need everybody playing with as much energy as this guy, he said pointing to Rashaun Freeman. ''He's scoring off of all your screwups.''
After the worst scoring slump of his career, Freeman once again was dominant.
''I told Ray you have to create opportunities for yourself,'' Ford said. ''I said that even if teams are double-teaming you or the game is not going to your style of play, you can go rebound the ball. We miss enough shots for you to go get the ball. Make things happen.''
Freeman listened and responded.
Freeman hadn't scored 10 or more points in three straight games, the longest such stretch of his career. But the offensive glass was Freeman's path out of the slump.
Eleven of his career-high 19 rebounds Sunday were on offense, the most by a Minuteman since Ajmal Basit had 12 offensive boards against Georgetown on Dec. 4, 1996. Freeman turned those into 16 of his 25 points, including the first basket of the game.
''We didn't run one single play for him. It was all effort,'' said Ford, who saw it coming. ''I could tell right away he was going to have a good game. Even before the game he was being vocal and was into it. He can talk himself into good games sometimes.''
Freeman said he is relieved to be back on track.
''When you're in a slump like I was, it feels like your back is against the wall and nobody is in your corner,'' he said. ''You just have to dig down deep and just stay focused. The confidence in the last couple games has been missing. I think I found it.''
Some of that renewed confidence came from home. Freeman talked to his grandmother before Sunday's game. She suggested that to break his slump he should focus on what was important to him and forget everything else.
Before the game, with that in mind, Freeman wrapped white tape abound his black wristbands and wrote his grandmother's name, ''family,'' ''In God We Trust'' and ''Beat the Odds'' on the tape.
''That definitely pushed me. I'm going to keep those wristbands from now on,'' he said. ''The team can't afford to have me get sidetracked again.''
A big key was Freeman's ability to stay out of foul trouble as he didn't pick up first until 3:49 into the second half, allowing him to get some momentum going.
As he checked back into the game late in the second half, Freeman was told he had 19 rebounds, but he couldn't get one more to become the first UMass player to grab 20 since Jim Town had 27 against Boston College on Dec. 12, 1976.
Freeman said he plans to crack 20 soon.
''I'm going to get it,'' he said. ''I'm going to work as hard as I can and have the mind-set that nobody in the A-10 is going to outwork me.''
Freeman moved to No. 21 all-time on the school's career scoring list with 1,195 points, passing Carmelo Travieso (1,186) and John Murphy (1,184). He needs 16 points to catch Town and former teammate Anthony Anderson who each had 1,211.
ROAD STRUGGLES - The win was just the third for UMass (11-12, 6-6 Atlantic 10) away from the Mullins Center this season as it improved to 3-11 in road and neutral-site play. It snapped a six-game road losing streak.
STANDINGS - The win pushes the Minutemen into a tie for eighth place in the conference with Rhode Island with both teams at 6-6, a half game back of Temple (7-6) and a game back of Xavier and Fordham (7-5).
The 11th- and 12th-place teams don't go to the Atlantic 10 Tournament next month in Cincinnati. The Bonnies (7-17, 1-12 A-10) need to win its remaining games (including March 1 against No. 7 George Washington) and have Richmond lose its final four games to make the A-10 Tournament.
NEXT UP - The Minutemen play their first home game in two weeks Wednesday when Charlotte comes to the Mullins Center for a 7 p.m. game. The 49ers are 16-9 (9-3 A-10) after beating Fordham 81-75 Saturday.
MISCELLANEOUS - St. Bonaventure assistant coach John Brannen was an assistant under Ford for three seasons at Eastern Kentucky. ... St. Bonaventure is 5-40 in A-10 play under head coach Anthony Solomon.
