^ This also shows we have two football message boards. Just sayin'.

Anyways, I think the spread is about right for this one. Provo is not an easy place to play. But you never know, we might possibly be getting back some guys on defense from injury.
Looking forward to the 2022 UMass Football Season (Oh boy, just jinxed that one)

BYU has a reputation for cheap shots and injuring players. We have a reputation for getting injured. I'm glad we had a bye week heading into this, but I'd rather be playing almost anybody else ahead of the long trip to face a beatable Hawaii team. The kids are going to have to forget about Hawaii and prepare for a street fight, which is a lot to ask at this point in a brutal season. BYU for its part should be rested after a nothing game against Southern Utah, and is 5-1 in their last 6 games, marred only by a 1 point loss at highly ranked Boise State. They did need overtime to beat a Mississippi State team that we could have beaten on a better day, so the 30 point line is surprising. Nobody has beaten us by 30 points this year.

I think we'll get the team's usual good accounting of themselves for 2 or 3 quarters, but I'm more worried than usual about their mindset going into this one. I know I personally am thinking just get through this damn game healthy and get to Hawaii, but it'll go badly if the team is thinking that way.

That is good to hear. On another note the UMass flight out of Bradley Airport was delayed due to a bomb threat at the airport. Link.

Are they continuing straight to Hawaii after the game? If not - Jezus H that is a lot of travel in 9 days.

^

Yes, straight over the Pacific from the Salt Lake. Would be crazy to come back this way so I'm happy they are doing that. Hopefully a team Thanksgiving goes a long way for them as well.

As far as this thread being dead, I think most of the diehard football talk has moved over to the Maroon Musket forums now.

Everyone's always welcome to swing over to the Fight Massachusetts forums as another destination to talk UMass in all aspects. Happy to have those who may not have joined.

^^Some good content over there but the 247 sports interface is God-awful. I don't have the patience to do more than an occasional drive-by.

Hope the team comes out health as well.

On a personal note, my 2005 720p TV died. Feel like I've joining the 21 century, now that the new Visio has built-in google cast that they call smart cast. What I especially like is that it comes with it's own tablet so not using my cell phone data in the streaming to the big screen. ESPN was smart to launch ESPN3 and will be using it.
Go UMass!!
