Re: Presidential poll August
This was an act of political genius. With the latest ACA repeal floundering, N. Korea escalating, DACA blowback, Trump needed a distraction. So what does he do? He tweets about something which, in the grand scheme of things, is really not as important as any of the issues I mention above, but the media eats it up. So now that's what everyone's talking about.
This is a win for Trump and you can thank the so called left wing media for the assist.

Re: Presidential poll August
^ Good observations.
I have also heard that he took the opportunity to switch his discussion on the GS Warriors to take a jab at the NFL with the goal of lowering their ratings (and, of course, the monetary implications). His past feuds with the NFL are well documented, e.g.http://www.cnn.com/2017/09/25/politics/ ... index.html and any way he can get back at a past (perceived or real) slight/enemy is a standard operating procedure in his world. In other words, he doesn't really give a rat's ass about Kaepernick, but the situation does present an opportunity to gain a measure of revenge.

I think you guys are giving him way too much credit. I don't think he thinks these things out too far in advance. He's an idiot.

YOU'RE FIRED!
Re: Presidential poll August
The guy carries a grudge to the extreme (we're talking about 1983 USFL issues). Now he tweets about revoking tax breaks for the NFL (pretty much refuted) in response to their disrespect for the flag. He doesn't care whether he's right or not, he just wants the enemy to look bad in the court of public opinion and any monetary revenge he can exact against them is a bonus. It's his modus operandi.Quann wrote: Wed Sep 27, 2017 12:11 pm I think you guys are giving him way too much credit. I don't think he thinks these things out too far in advance. He's an idiot.

Re: Presidential poll August
The Bannon-Trump feud today is straight up reality TV.
The integrity of the US from a global socio-political perspective is completely gone. You are a poor excuse of a man and a joke of a person if you still support Trump, it has nothing to do with political party affiliation anymore.
Brb tweeting and joking around starting a nuclear wars. It is quite clear, It is not about the American people for Trump, it is about him and his accomplishments. That is not a leader. But we already knew that.

Re: Presidential poll August
I think most people globally know he's a clown and as long as the US economy continues to positively drive the global economy, we're ok. What will be telling to the global community if whether we kick him to the curb after 4 years or if we're stupid enough to reelect him. I'm hoping for the former. Another 4 years of him and I think it's a different story globally.

Thank you for actually putting words to what I meant by "according to who?"
I think he's an absolute embarrassment to the office of president but I don't know how much it will actually affect the integrity of the United States from a global socio-political perspective. I still think people from 90% of the countries in the world would kill for an opportunity to live in America. If you're talking about heads of state from around the world, then sure I guess.

The majority of Europeans would turn away the chance of living in the US instantly. The social benefits are way better in Europe and most acknowledge that the American Dream is no longer there.MJatUM wrote: Wed Jan 03, 2018 4:42 pm Thank you for actually putting words to what I meant by "according to who?"

Yeah, that's just not true at all. I was in Italy in May, the sentiment of wanting to move to the US was overwhelming and a bit shocking.inthescoop wrote: Wed Jan 03, 2018 7:37 pm

Trump's recent treatment of Bannon is why you should never sell your soul to this guy. He's a blood sucking weasel that discards people once they are of no use to him.

Yes let's weep for Bannon, the guy who looks like he just stepped out of a frat bender to roll into work three hours late.
I'd argue that Trump is fairly effectively neutered from a policy standpoint at this very moment. Individual Republicans in congress are going to spend the rest of this year either embracing him to appeal to their base, or distancing themselves because of electoral politics, but it won't be uniform across the party. I'd be surprised if Republicans can pull off suppressing the vote enough to maintain control of both federal houses of congress.
Basically the only way for Trump to change this dynamic in any way is by going to war. Which I'd put at a pretty high chance at the moment. Usually Americans flood support to the commander in chief in times of war, but I doubt that Trump has the trust of the public or the political capital to sell such a war. Interesting, if terrifying, times we live in, nowadays.

Not weeping for Bannon at all. I know what his end game is and find him to be a morally bankrupt person. Just pointing out Trump's lack of character, lack of loyalty and overall petty vindictive nature. Bannon was a key in getting him elected, no matter what Trump claims now.

Can we at least agree that trumps nickname game is top notch? Add Sloppy Steve to Little Marco, Pocahontas, and Lyin' Ted - guy is a nickname factory.
