The Minutemen open with three straight home games for the first time in 30 years. The then-Redmen opened with three consecutive wins against St. Anselm's, Vermont and Holy Cross in the 1971-72 campaign.
The current UMass squad will open with a rare Friday night home game, playing host to Arkansas-Little Rock on Nov. 16, followed by Marist on Nov. 24, and Oregon at the Springfield Civic Center on Nov. 27.
UMass travels to North Carolina State on Dec. 1, and returns home for five games in New England, sandwiching a trip to Boston College (Dec. 8) between home games against Holy Cross (Dec. 4) and Connecticut (Dec. 12).
The Minutemen wrap up their non-conference slate with Central Connecticut State at Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Conn., (Dec. 15), Maine at the Mullins Center (Dec. 23), a trip to Marshall (Dec. 29) and a home game against Ohio State on Jan. 9.
The Atlantic 10 schedule has not yet been released, but the Minutemen will play all of the teams in the league's East Division twice (home and away). In interdivisional play with the West teams, the Minutemen will play host to Dayton, George Washington and La Salle, while traveling to Xavier, Duquesne and Richmond.
Numerology - Anthony Anderson will wear No. 12 this season, a number with good point-guard history: Edgar Padilla wore No. 12 while he helped lead UMass to the Final Four in 1996.
Raheim Lamb will wear No. 34, and freshmen Brennan Martin and Kyle Wilson will wear Nos. 0 and 11, respectively, when they arrive.
Dwayne Killings wore 12 last year and is switching to 22. Willie Jenkins now has No. 1 after being No. 4 last year. Everyone else is keeping their numbers from last season.
