Senior year (2006-07) pre-season report from Head Coach Travis Ford: "Rashaun is an All-American Candidate after being on the A-10 First Team for the last two years. He is an extremely talented post player, a great one-on-one player, he's very tough to stop. I've seen more of a determination from him in our preseason workouts. He's paid more attention to his body, paid more attention to his weaknesses. So much came to him, so easily early. He was First Team All-Atlantic 10 his freshman, sophomore, and junior years. I wouldn't say he got complacent. It all just came easy to him; he didn't concentrate on his weaknesses. I've seen a determination. There have been many pro scouts watching his workouts. Ray has done really well."

Junior year (2005-06) achievements:

• Named a team captain along with senior Jeff Viggiano and junior Stephane Lasme on Jan. 16.
  
• Career field goal percentage of 54.0 ranks fourth all-time at UMass in a career. Stands 16th all-time at UMass in career scoring with 1,242. Became 37th UMass player with 1,000 career points on Dec. 27, 2005. On pace for 1,770 points (which would be 4th all-time).
  
• Atlantic 10 Preseason First Team Selection by league coaches and virtually every preseason annual magazine.
  
• At team post-season awards banquet, won the Julius Erving Scoring Award for leading the team with a 13.6 ppg average, won the Lou Roe Rebounding Award for leading the team with 9.3 rpg, and shared the George "Trigger" Burke Team MVP award with Stephane Lasme.
  
• Tallied 16 points and seven rebounds at Richmond (3/1) on 6-of-7 shooting.
  
• Named Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week on Feb. 25 after 18.7 ppg and 13.0 rpg in three games vs. St. Bona, Charlotte and Dayton.
  
• Posted 11th double-double of the season in win over Dayton (2/25) with 19 points and 12 rebounds, had 15 points and nine rebounds in second half as UMass outscored Flyers, 40-18.
  
• Grabbed career-high 19 rebounds and scored season-high tying 25 points at St. Bonaventure (2/19). Had 11 offensive rebounds, most by a UMass player since Ajmal Basit in 1996. His 19 rebounds, marked the most by a player since 1976 when Jim Town had 27.
  
• Scored only 11 points over three games (3.7 ppg), fewest points in any three-game span in his career from Feb. 8-15.
  
• Scored a career-low three points on career-low two field goal attempts at Florida State (2/12), playing just 23 minutes.
  
• Held without a field goal for the first time in his career (his 77th game) as he went 0-8 vs. La Salle (2/8), did grab 11 rebounds with four points.
  
• Tallied game-high 21 points and grabbed season-high 15 rebounds vs. Rhode Island (2/4), took career-high 17 free throw attempts. Passed Will Herndon (1,148) and Lari Ketner (1,148) and Rodger Twitchell (1,151) on the all-time scoring list in the game.
  
• Posted eighth double-double of the year and second in a row at La Salle (1/29) with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
  
• Despite 5-of-16 from the floor, posted seventh double-double of season at Rhode Island (1/25) with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
  
• Posted sixth double-of season with 21 points and season-high 13 rebounds vs. Fordham (1/18), scored 14 points in second half.
  
• Mired in foul trouble vs. Temple (1/21) scored eight points and had nine rebounds in 21 minutes.
  
• Led UMass in scoring for the third game in a row with 19 points in the win over Saint Joseph's (1/11).
  
• Netted game-high 20 points and grabbed game-high eight rebounds in a win at Duquesne (1/7), passed Derick Claiborne, Dana Dingle, Charlton Clarke and David Brown on all-time scoring list in game which he went 9-of-13 from the floor.

• Named to the Panasonic Holiday Festival All-Tournament team after totalling 19 points and 14 rebounds in two games against St. Peter's (12/27) and St. John's (12/28), also had two blocks in each game and career-tying three assists vs. St. Peter's.
  
• Named UMass/Dinn Brothers Athlete of the Week on Dec. 25 after performance against Siena.
  
• Playing versus the school which was just miles from where he grew up, Siena (12/23), had 23 points and 12 rebounds on 7-of-10 from the floor.
  
• Tallied 12 points and 10 rebounds against Boston University (12/12) for 22nd career double-double.
  
• Team-high 19 points at No. 3 Connecticut (12/8), netted 15 points in the first half including 6-of-6 fr om field, and had team-best nine rebounds.
  
• Posted back-to-back double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds vs. Savannah State (11/28), all 12 points came in second half.
  
• Notchd 20th career double-double vs. UAB (11/25) in Tip-Off Classic with 21 points and game-high 11 rebounds, made 10-of-16 from floor.
  
• Led UMass to opening win vs. Hartford (11/18) with game-high 25 points an six rebounds. Scored 17 points in second half of the game.
