ameel Pugh is having a bangup year thus far. Every part of his game is improved and polished. It shows in his statistics.
Jameel Pugh, a muscular and athletic 6-5, 200 pound swingman from Grant Union H.S. in Sacramento, Calif. who signed with Massachusetts in the Fall, has sparked his team to a 4-0 record so far this season.
Pugh has looked terrific too. He is averaging 20 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists, four blocks and three dunks per game. "So far so good," Pugh said. "I still have a lot of work to do. It would be nice to go undefeated this year. We are going to try."
Pugh also considered St. Louis and TCU. He was also interested at one time in Arizona State, Michigan, Stanford, Washington State, DePaul, and Kentucky.
A terrific dunker who can also knock down the three pointer, Pugh also expressed interest early on in Virginia, Pittsburgh, UCLA, Oregon State, Fullerton State, Nevada, Pacific, UC-Santa Barbara, St. Mary's, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Holy Cross, Navy, Akron, Cal State Northridge, Portland State, Sacramento State and Princeton.
As a junior, Pugh averaged 16 points, eight rebounds and three assists per contest.
