+The Yankee Conference was a collegiate athletic conference, with members located in New England.  Massachusetts was a charter member of the conference.
+The league formed in 1946, and dissolved for basketball in 1976, although the conference continued as football-only until 1997.  In basketball, Massachusetts went from the Yankee Conference to the ECBL (Eastern Collegiate Basketball League), which transformed into the Eastern 8 and ultimately into the [[atlantic_10|Atlantic 10]].
