Career

  • Played and started all of UM's 74 games in his three varsity seasons.
  • Also competed with UMass the track & field team.

1967-68 Senior year

  • First Team All Yankee Conference.
  • NABC All-District Second Team selection.
  • Team captain.
  • Led the team in scoring and rebounding with 19.6 points and 12.0 rebounds per game. His scoring average was, at the time, fourth-highest in UM history.
  • Played 38.2 minutes per game, which still stands as fourth-most in UM history.1)
  • Set a new UMass record with 41 points versus Vermont (2/10), breaking the previous high of 39 by Bill Prevey from 1952. The 41 point mark stood as UM's best until Luwane Pipkins scored 44 in the overtime win versus La Salle on 1/10/2018. (Pipkins scored 38 in regulation and another six in overtime.)2)
  • The 41 points stood as UM's best in games at the Curry Hicks Cage.
  • In that game, Tindall shot 19-33 from the floor. Both numbers stand as UM highs in a game.3)4)
  • Scored 32 points at New Hampshire (1/20). Shot 14-20 from the line in the game, both numbers set his career highs.

1966-67 Junior year

  • Second Team All Yankee Conference.
  • NABC All-District First Team selection.
  • Led the team in scoring with 17.2 points per game. Second in rebounding (10.9) to Tim Edwards (13.7).
  • Scored 37 points versus DePaul (12/29), then another 34 the next night versus Texas (12/30).

1965-66 Sophomore year

  • Second Team All Yankee Conference.
  • Led the team in rebounding at 11.0 per game. Third on the team in scoring with 14.9 points per game.
  • Scored 33 points at AIC (1/4).

Post-UMass

  • Selected by the Atlanta Hawks in the 13th Round of the NBA Draft.5) Tindall was the first from UMass ever selected in the NBA Draft. However, he never ended up playing in the league.
