Buckler Christmas Challenge
Dec. 27-29, 1994

STRASBOURG, France - The world-travelling Massachusetts Minutemen finished 0-3 against European professional teams at the Buckler Christmas Challenge.

The first day consisted of two 20-minute mini-games. In the opener, UMass fell to the tournament's home team, then Strasbourg edged the Minutemen 57-52 in overtime to delight the crowd.

Massachusetts Coach John Calipari started his bench against Pau Orthez and they responded well, but fell 44-43 in the second game. Pau Orthez went on to win the tournament.

In its final game of the tournament, led by Komazec's (no first name listed) 43 points, Italy's Caviga Varese defeated UMass 102-95. Lou Roe led UMass, scoring 27 points. Marcus Camby also scored 22 and Edgar Padilla chipped in 13 in the losing battle.
