  • Lowell Textile Institute was renamed Lowell Technological Institute (Lowell Tech) in 1959. In 1972 Lowell Tech merged with Lowell State College to form the University of Lowell. UMass games prior to the 1988 game were played with Lowell Textile Institute.
  • University of Lowell changed their name to UMass Lowell in 1991.
