Alright folks, haven’t been around very much this year by choice. After the shitty start to the year, I have watched hardly any games, and it’s an interest that had been dwindling for awhile.

Big picture: I think college hoops sucks.

No continuity, no programs, just a collection of players on ...

Not a very inspiring second half that’s for sure but there were some encouraging signs from a few players. Some productive minutes from worthy and Nate g. Had 10 assists on 16 baskets in the first half. Found some offense along the baseline. First half defense was pretty good.

Well NJIT stinks but we are playing fairly well outside of the perimeter shooting (which is to be expected). Defense is fine, not turning it over, guards are doing a good job finding dudes inside.

Edit: meant to add I wonder why Watson isn’t seeing any minutes.

Well it's a step forward I guess. They were very active at both ends after the first 15 minutes or so. Def helps that Harvard is not a very good team.

I do find it kind of humorous that we went out and signed 4 bigs and only 1 of them saw any minutes today and our best lineup is when we went small ...

As for checking out, I am definitely in the camp of being less interested (probably a healthy move) than I have been in the past for both external and internal reasons.

Externally, I think the college sports landscape sucks. No need to rehash ...

I’m usually fairly measured in my thoughts, but this team stinks. I don’t know one thing they do well.

Yeah I don’t have great expectations for us offensively, but I do expect them to be better defensively. La Tech is a pretty good team but they ahot nearly 60% on twos against us — I thought we would be sturdier than that.

I’m not nearly as invested in this team and this game the way I used to be. Yes I recognize I say that while posting on a team message board. I am a fan still and always will be, but it’s like whole new damn team every year and it sucks. They could all very well be great kids but I haven’t followed ...

Not watching but seems like another rough first half. Hard to win when getting outscored 21-3 from three, giving up 9 more shot attempts because you aren’t very good rebounding on the defensive end, and when your best player no shows again.

Welp they played better in the second half. Cut down on the turnovers and that helped limit easy baskets. Still — and I know it’s early — we have some serious limitations offensively, especially in the halfcourt.

We can’t shoot and have lineups with multiple non-shooters that limits floor spacing ...

Dogshit half. Weak passes and weak with the ball in general. Giving up penetration that leads to offensive rebounds or open threes. Diggins is playing like a damn freshman - he’s not strong enough or quick enough and his shot is MIA which happens with him.

Played pretty well against an overmatched team. Active on d, didn’t turn the ball over, and generally took good shots. Thought we were just ok on the boards.

Will be interesting to see what our halfcourt offense looks like against bigger, better teams - that will be a bit of a struggle I think.

Sounds like we played tough and rebounded well for most of the game but didn’t shoot worth shit, which is my biggest concern by far.
