We have a million guards that are coming here for 1 year as it is already. Even if he got the waiver and there was a scholarship available, he wouldn't be playing for Umass. I hope for his sake he gets it. They've been so loose with a lot of this stuff since COVID it would be a huge overcorrection ...

It's a bit of an oversimplification to say there are hundreds of D1 schools, so we should be able to get a game. We're not going to schedule a lower conference school from across the country in December. But I agree that it's hard to believe there weren't regional options other than UMass Boston ...

Frank gives an update on the team per The Gazette. All of the newcomers are mentioned except Shahid Muhammed, the elite shot blocker. The author mentions 7 newcomers, not 8. I hope it's an oversight as he's the rim protector that Frank has been looking for.

I really liked Sean East. It's too bad he was run out of town in hindsight. But, given today's landscape, he would have eventually left on his own accord at some point anyway. Whether that was 1 or 2 more years down the line who knows.

As an FYI there was no team we played in last years out of conference schedule that made the NCAA tournament. If your goal is to make the NCAA tournament you need to schedule much better OOC than we have been doing. If your ‘goal’ is less than the NCAA tournament then there is no need to solicit ...
