While I understand what you are saying vanmeter, I do not believe we are better than all 4 teams. SIU is a ranked team which many expect to go deep in the Tournament. The other 3 teams are debatable as I see your point.

The MVC has mastered scheduling and the A-10 should definetealy attempt to make ...

Gotta be careful though. This could be a trap game. We have a bigger game against St. Louis on Saturday Night. I am sure Ford will have the guys pumped.

Beating Dayton, who were 14-0 at home is a good sign.

The other thing regarding Texas Tech is the big win they have recently gotten with beating Kansas. With the strength of their conference, the Big 12, eventually they will have a better chance at marquee wins even if their record is worse than ours.

I believe you must balance your lineup, but the best players must play. If your starters are playing well, your subs won't come in much. If two starters and three subs are playing well, they play. You can tell if guy is going to play well, but overall your starters are your guys.

There are reasons ...

If Artie didn't want to be here any more why would you want him on the court? He would have no incentive to work hard, play well, and help us. Why not stop worrying about what it could have been with him and just face the reality that we do not have him.

Life's defense has been atrocious. While he is very aggressive on the ball, he actually moves around TOO much. He doesn't play off the ball well, trying to jump into a passing lane or loosing sight of his man when he shouldn't. The first game of the year his first two possessions were defensive ...

KGB: This team will recover from this game, but coach should name Lowe captain, since he is the leader on this years squad and the team is in his good hands.

I understand your excitement with Lowe, but captain already? A captain is defined by an individual who leads the team by example, who voices ...

Solid Overall Performance

Overall, I was very impressed with the effort and the offense for the teams. We moved the ball better, almost not shooting enough on certain possessions. Our offense put up 77 and 72 points respectively, which compared to last year is very positive. We shot the three ball very well.

As for ...

At the scrimmage, it looked like Lowe was much more comfortable in the PG spot than anyone else. He handled the rock well, and his quickness didn't allow anyone to guard him. He pushed the ball up, and was even a little bit unselfish in the passes he made. Granted, the scrimmage was more for show ...

There are usually more than three paid. It is three paid assistant coaches, followed by a director of basketball operations and a staff assitant, usually not a graduate assistant. The last two years there has been no graduate assistant.

He isn't trying to deny the fact that Lappas has been a bad fit here, he is just trying to bring attention to the fact that the players give everything they have and deserve our respect and to be rooted for.

No matter how bad people do not like the coach, root for UMass because of the players they ...

I don't think a possible assualt charge or civil actions against a coach, albeit one of the greatest of all time, is the kind if press the A-10 needed in order to bring it back into the heyday..

Vermont Basketball

True, Coppenrath and Sorrentine's departure will most certainly lead them back to the middle of the pack. The thing they did for UVM though was put it on the map for college sports after the hazing scandal canceled an entire hockey season.

After the hockey hazing they hired a new coach, brought in ...

Watch out though. They still have Steven Smith, A-10 leader in points at 21.7 ppg and third in rebounds at 8.3 rpg.
