I think this is HUGE for umass a 6'8" 200 small forward who is long and athletic and can block shots and shoot i believe after a year of prepping this kid will be a stud for us I'm ecstatic with Kellogg's recruiting ability and really think he can put this program back on the map as one of the elite. I deffinately have my maroon colored glasses on.
Not much new here but he's helping lead Winchendon (same school Ricky came from) to a 4-2 start

Just saw Carter play at the HoopHall in Springfield. He's long and athletic at 6'8 with a decent body on him already. He could easily put the ball on the floor and got to the rim against a pretty good Patterson team. His first 3 attempt was from the corner and he released it from about eye level and the ball went on a line drive into the rim...that had me concerned. However, he hit a few after that and his touch started to look better. He by no means though is a pure shooter from what I saw today and could use some more arch on it. However, it looked like he could easily be helped by Kellogg and Co.
What impressed me most today was how hard he worked. He banged on the boards, both offensively and defensively against guys that had more wieght and a few more inches. He ran the floor extremely well. Overall, I'm pretty excited to watch him in a UMass uniform for the next four years. Shuld be able to help next year.

I was also at the winchendon-patterson game and the thing that impressed me the most with carter was how quick his hands were. He had several steals, and even more times where he poked the ball out of a aptterson's guys hands, but sent it out of bounds. He seemed to get a hand on everything.
One disappointing thing was that he didn't seem to have the extreme athletic ability that his body makes you think he has. I don't think he's somebody who can dunk in traffic, and a few times when you thought he might, he opted to just lay it in off the glass.
Overall he seemed to be a solid and smart player, which is always somebody good to have.

Heroes get remembered, but legends never die, follow your heart kid, and you'll never go wrong.
