Nope, TBerg was guarding Roberts. And doing a heckuva job.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to cap it last night - was at Professor Thoms with some other wackos.

Thanks for the link, though - want to watch again so I can actually hear it

One play that deserves mention....after Maxie's steal/jam, Galloway missed a three, and the ball was loose. Trey D absolutely layed out to get his hands on that loose ball, earning the jumpball and possession. HUGE play, which he followed with clutch FT shooting. Kid is getting better all the time.

That was big time, DK said in the post game that Trey is his #1 guy to seal it with free throws.....I think he even said Trey is his most trusted player to knockdown 3's late (something like that). But going head first and getting his hands on that ball first was awesome

^ Agreed. Trey is a baller like Chaz and DG. Great hustle there.

There really anyone else you want on the line late than Trey. Icewater!

But I was surprised late in the game when SJ was trailing by 1 and Trey had the ball deep near the SJ's bench in the back court they didn't try to trap him. There was still 30+ seconds left but they fouled him right away. If Trey has one area of concern it is when he is pressed. UMass could have used a TO but I was still surprised they didn't try to go for a steal or get a 10 second violation.
I'm just tryin' to get by bein' quiet and shy In a world full of pushin' and shove...

Was an automatic on the Kellogg-Roe teams of the 90's. There was not a loose ball I could remember that we didn't fight for like our lives depended on it. That is what I think DK and LR are teaching these kids. Hustle and determination can overcome bad shooting nights on occasion. So, if Samp and Put are off one night from a shooting standpoint, if they scrap and fight for loose balls, then they are making a major contribution.

I really like this team. They may not be the most talented, but they will find a way to win or stay in a game. Mark my words on that.

Haven't gotten a chance to look this thread over yet so I apologize if some of the things have been pointed out over and over again before this.

I thought the reffing was very inconsistent. I liked how they let them play in the first half, but whistles came a lot easier in the second. They let them play at the end of the game though which was nice to see.

I really felt as though we controlled tempo in the first half even though we were down for most of it. If Samp even played decent and Putney's first half was half as good as his second I think we would've won this game pretty comfortably.

Sure, we aren't playing amazingly well right now but it's nice to see us winning anyway. Cady was horrible all game (loved that he broke a press by himself once though) and so was Samp and we still pulled out a big conference win. We will be getting every teams best shot now that we have that number next to our name.

For some reason I wasn't as nervous as I should've been throughout the game. There's just a feeling that this team is going to pull it out pretty much every time we're on the court. I'm sure most people on this board will be unsatisfied with that win but i'm not one of them.

St Joe's has a lot of talent and could win a good number of games in league play. I thought Martelli actually had some really nice coaching moves last night. That kid Embry could be playing in the league in a few years.

YEAH, I decided to watch the last few minutes after coming home. Penders did not sound 'on his game', shall we say?
