6:00pm Sunday, 16 March 2014: the selection show
I've noticed that shirt "The UMass Way" is pretty cool - looks like adidas has its logo on that, and this is something seen across other conferences, all sponsored by Adidas. (e.g. Seton Hall has "The Pirate Way", Michigan has "The Wolverine Way", etc.). Really would love to buy this.
If UMass is smart, they will be selling some type of UMass NCAA shirt/gear.

http://boston.cbslocal.com/2014/03/17/w ... h-madness/As for the local teams, Whitmer really likes the way UMass battled through a tough non-conference schedule. They have proven to be battle tested and have definitely earned their sixth seed.
“UMass played teams like New Mexico and beat ‘em. They played Nebraska and beat ‘em. They played Providence and beat ‘em. They played BYU and beat them – all four of those teams are in the tournament,” said Whitmer.
I don't know if anyone actually mentioned that there was a very big turnout for the event. It was the first time I've ever seen the parking lot there at the Newmarket Center completely full. Not one spot. I had to park around back as did many others.

I just sent the bookstore an email asking if and when they were going to sell the shirts. Hoping to hear back in the positive. I mentioned in my email that a number of people here have expressed interest in buying the shirts.EBox wrote:I've noticed that shirt "The UMass Way" is pretty cool - looks like adidas has its logo on that, and this is something seen across other conferences, all sponsored by Adidas. Not only that, but other schools have begun selling them! Including NC State!

This is maybe encouraging? Appears to be an automated message though....
Probably wouldn't hurt if others wrote in as well. I am going to write another email with the link to the NC State page anyways.
How can they automate a response to the kind of question I asked? I guess it's easy now that I think about it.....they can just say "Yeah, we're working on it.....might happen, might not...."The following is a response in regard to ticket id: 352522
We are in the works to try and get these but it may or may not happen. We'll see what happens.

Just checked our gear store. Looks like they created this masterpiece for the NCAAs:
Manufactured by the high end renown sports clothing designer Blue 84. Awful. Another missed opportunity.

I would bet that this is the standard NCAA Tourney team for all 68 schools. Why they licensed it with a substandard company, I have no idea.
It seriously irks me that NC State can get their "Wolfpack Way" T shirts on the store website, and we can't. Why does UMass always have to lag behind in this area???

Because Adidas doesn't care about us as a small client in comparison to their big clients that they have to satisfy first.MikeEsq wrote:I would bet that this is the standard NCAA Tourney team for all 68 schools. Why they licensed it with a substandard company, I have no idea.
