Very proud of and happy for DG, he is truly someone for young people to look up to.
I find it a little sad that in this day and age people have to come out, I'd hoped we were well past those days and that people's sexuality was no longer breaking news.
Great to see all the support he is receiving, UMassNation is truly an incredible collection of individuals.

"Jack didn’t have any envy in him," Calipari said. "He was the greatest coach to ever coach here."
And I just saw that this was posted here a few days ago:

Coming Out to Play: The Role of Sexuality in Sport
I felt this was an appropriate place to mention it and I will create a separate thread later, but it is Wednesday April 9, 2014 on campus.

Very proud of and happy for, Derrek, his teammates and coaches. I'm just waiting for the day when this type of announcement and pronouncements of support will be unnecessary. Derek's actions today will help that day arrive sooner.
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.
