Opponent Watch 2014-15
Re: Opponent Watch 2014-15
They don't always make threes.
I kind of like our matchup with VCU this year. HInds speed is huge, and they don't have frontcourt depth. Cady should have a good day against them.

Is their frontcourt depth as good as ours?Chris20 wrote:They don't always make threes.

Similar in depth. As in, not much. But we have better quality.
Re: Opponent Watch 2014-15
Busy night with some excellent games to watch, both for our opponents and elsewhere in college hoops......undefeated night for our opponents last night....that won't happen tonight.
Temple @ St. Joe's -- 630pm -- CBSSports Network -- Rivalry night in the A10 gets started with a Philly matchup. Owls slight favorite over the Hawks. A10 needs to start winning some of these toss-ups.
Buffalo @ St. Bonaventure -- 7pm -- SNY -- The saner Hurley has the Bison playing well, losing only to Kentucky in a relatively competitive game so far. Bonnies are tough at home, but this is a tossup at best in my opinion.
Dayton @ Miami -- 7pm -- Not the best Redhawk team, but not an easy place for Dayton to play. Flyers a healthy favorite but a close game shouldn't surprise anyone.
William & Mary @ Richmond -- 7pm -- RIchmond hosts the Tribe (why isn't that offensive to anyone?), who have won 4 in a row after losing their opener to Florida. Challenging game for the struggling Spiders, but they are usually good in these games at home.
Charlotte @ Davidson -- 7pm -- Old friends against new, and both teams are off to solid starts. Charlotte has played a decent schedule and scratched out some close wins. Tough to go into Davidson and win, though.
Old Dominion @ George Mason -- 730pm -- ODU makes their 4th appearance on Opponent Watch this season. They've enjoyed their other visits, with wins over VCU, Richmond, and LSU. They aren't as good on the road, though. GMU is usually horrible but they can put it together once in a while, as we know. Tossup.
(10) Villanova @ Lasalle -- 830pm -- CBSSports Network -- Another Philly rivalry. Mismatch on paper, but anything goes in a Big 5 matchup.
Northeastern @ Harvard -- 7pm -- We are the Huskies only loss, and the Crimson's best win. I guess a Northeastern win helps us if we're looking way ahead, as it improves the quality of our win. Harvard favored by a bunch here.
Canisius @ St. Peter's -- 7pm -- Griffs hit the road and will be slight underdogs, St Pete has won a couple of games, including one at Rutgers.
Florida Tech @ Florida Gulf Coast -- 7pm -- ESPN3 -- FGCU tunes up for the Abdow's Classic with Division 2 Florida Tech. ESPN3 if you want a preview.
(19)Michigan St @ Notre Dame -- 715pm -- ESPN2 -- Spartans lost a lot from last year but are off to a 5-2 start and are ranked. ND could jump into the rankings if they can win this one, and I think they will.

Re: Opponent Watch 2014-15
If Northeastern manages to beat Harvard tonight, I think I'm going to vomit.
Re: Opponent Watch 2014-15
Because we beat them by 25 and because we SHOULD HAVE beat Harvard.

Re: Opponent Watch 2014-15
Hope notre dame can pull this out. We looked evenly matched with them despite the final score, so if they beat a top 15 team that would be great!
Down 6 right now though

Temple @ St. Joe's -- St. Joe's starts out on fire and holds off a furious Owl comeback, by the skin of their teeth. Hawks get a big game out of Junior forward Isiah Miles. Nice win.
Buffalo @ St. Bonaventure -- Bonnies also start out hot and hold off a couple of Bison threats to win pretty comfortably. Lot of talent in Olean, starting to round into form a bit.
Dayton @ Miami -- Flyers led by 16 with ten minutes left, then went ice cold and started turning it over. They hung on, barely in an ugly affair.
William & Mary @ Richmond -- Spiders and Tribe went back and forth all night, W&M had a 1and1 with 5 seconds left, down 1.....and missed. Spiders hang on. A win is a win.
Charlotte @ Davidson -- Wildcats in control the whole way, but unlike the Charlotts coach's hairline, they never could pull away. Solid win again.
Old Dominion @ George Mason -- Mason played well, and led for a while in the second half, but went cold late while ODU hit a couple of daggers from deep.
(10) Villanova @ Lasalle -- Lasalle can't keep up with the Cats. Not close.
Northeastern @ Harvard -- Crimson in control most of the way. Huskies fought and got close a couple times but Harvard pulls away.
Canisius @ St. Peter's -- Griffs get hot from outside and overcome a 10 point second half deficit on the road. They move to a respectable 3-3.
Florida Tech @ Florida Gulf Coast -- FGCU was sloppy, and kept FIU hanging around before pulling away. They rested guys, need to be fresh for the Abdow's Classic.
(19)Michigan St @ Notre Dame -- Great back and forth ball game. Irish rode Grant, who was awesome again. MSU usually known for defense, but apparently they don't have anyone that can guard Grant either. ND makes a couple more plays in OT and gets a really good win.

Re: Opponent Watch 2014-15
ND is good that's for sure.
Re: Opponent Watch 2014-15
A10 will go undefeated tonight, and a tough one OOC.
UMBC @ George Washington -- 7pm -- UMBC is really bad, this should be a Colonial beatdown.
LSU @ West Virginia -- 7pm -- ESPN2 -- Good chance for LSU to get on the at large radar. Mountaineers are off to a great start, 7-0 with some solid wins by big margins. I thought the Tigers looked pretty good against us, made a lot of shots and got some bounces. Hopefully it continues.

St. Bonaventure is looking impressive early and Davidson is NOT going to be this year's George Mason. They can play. Beating Charlotte is no joke. Charlotte beat Penn State (which is their only loss) and lost twice in 3 days to an undefeated Miami team.

What a win by LSU over #16 WVU in West Virginia!! Makes our loss a little better now. Great game all around.

Re: Opponent Watch 2014-15
Def makes me feel better that ND and LSU are both tearing it up.
Re: Opponent Watch 2014-15
Opponents are picking up some momentum, finally......
UMBC @ George Washington -- GW takes care of business, behind a big game from Patricio Garino, probably my favorite opposing A10 player.
LSU @ West Virginia -- As mentioned, LSU storms back from 14 down to beat a strong WVU team at home. LSU has a lot of talent, obviously Mickey and Martin are a handful, but Tim Quartermain can really play too. Big win for the Tigers.
