+1 - This game could have been a game changer in our season, it's definitely unfortunate.

URI(NE) lost to Dayton earlier today and dropped to 12-5 in A-10 play. Assuming UMass wins tomorrow night against Richmond, we'll be 11-6 in league play. We have to root for SJU against URI(NE) in its last game of the regular season if UMass has any chance at securing a top 4 seed in Brooklyn. We would win the tie-breaker with URI(NE) as we have beaten Dayton, the top team, and URI(NE) hasn't.

Wow! Go St Joe's! Set a new personal scoring record, DeAndre buddy.
edit: Oh. We have to beat UR and GW, too. Hmmm......

Not to pop your bubble, but URI is gonna beat St Joes by 20.

Excited to watch the VCU-Davidson match-up tonight, should be a good one. Spread is -2.5 Davidson (at home).

Here's something I don't understand. Why is VCU considered a lock right now but Davidson is considered a bubble team?? Davidson is currently 21-6 with losses to UVA, UNC, @VCU, @Richmond, @SJU, and SBU. SBU was a bad loss at home and SJU was a bad loss even on the road, but aside from that they lost to high quality teams. They have completely dominated the A-10 conference schedule. They're up 40-21 on VCU right now at the half. I understand they don't have very many quality wins, but they're still 21-6 and about to be 22-6!

Prob because of their top 30 BPI & RPI ranking and they have a solid win vs. N. Iowa and 4 top 50 wins. But after tonight pasting if they go 1 and done in Brooklyn they may find themselves sweating a bit on selection Sunday. Esp if a few unknowns win conference tourneys in the power conferences.

Manhattan just won the MAAC. That can only help our RPI, right?

Assuming the A10 gets three bids and one of the three is not Umass. Those three combined with already in Northeastern and Manhattan and possibly/likely; ND, LSU, BYU, Providence, Harvard there could be 10 teams in the tourney that Umass played this year.

Yeah, and that record wouldn't be very good if those are the teams.

I really think VCU could be in trouble next year. They are just not the same without Weber, 6-5 since his injury and today they might lose to Richmond for the 3rd time this year.

For all his accolades, well-deserved for what he's done with that program, Smart hasn't really shown that he can put in an effective 5-5 offense. When they aren't scoring off of turnovers/felony assaults, they almost always look horrible on offense. The exception is when multiple guys are making outside shots, which isn't very often. And even we look well-oiled when lots of shots are falling.

Yup. I've said the same thing for a long time. VCU runs the NFL version of the wildcat, new and exciting but not long lasting. Once teams figure it out it is doomsday. That is why they always mess themselves in the tourney in the first weekend. One good F4 season a long time ago it seems with a season high ranking of 7, no really there is a banner hanging in their arena to prove the #7 national ranking. After that teams with a semblance of coaching figuring them out.

They are def a good team with a good coach for a min-major conference.

Yeah, I would have to have VCU's record the last few years and I would hate to have their coach.
