They were taller at every position. Not a starter under 6-2. Tough to rebound.

We shot 24 -25 on free throws tonight which kept us in the game.

Good question, but I’m more interested in what the CBS guys said....

I was impressed the way we competed against a deeper larger team. No shame in this loss.

Great crowd tonight 4194. Hopefully a lot of them will come for other games the rest of the season.

Did anyone notice if Baldwin and Holloway were still on the bench today?

^ Both were. Baldwin was even getting into the huddle towards the end.

Great effort by the guys. I'm especially proud of the way they kept fighting after URI went on their run late in the second half to go up by 14. I thought they might pack it in but they fought even harder.

This was the best game that CJ has played in a long time and it was also the best I have seen Malik on the offensive boards. We still have our warts, but this shows that if they play hard and share the ball we have a chance.

A word of advice for Unique. If he would put it off the backbaord instead of trying to dunk over 6'8 guys he would get some goaltending calls.

Holloway was very active on the bench. KTM played sporadic minutes and made a couple of good plays. One time when he came out of the game during a time out I saw RH come over to him, put his arm around him and give him some encouragement. He doesn't look like someone who has cashed it in.

Here's hoping he gets his act together and comes back next year as the player we hoped he can be. That will make us so much better.

Only 3 pages of comments? I just saw the highlights and I woke up with my girlfriend with a big ARE YOU SERIOUS after seeing that free throw violation call. How are you going to overturn that call? They didn’t even go to the screen to review it.

I think I was the only one here pregame that said this was going to be a close one.

We were down 14 to 7 to go! What a comeback! This team loves to fight until the end, you gotta love that.

Great effort by the boys, but enough about the lane violation. If you have played any and of organized basketball you know it was a violation. As Hurley said in his press conference, you can't even do that in the school yard. The problem was the Umass players didn't even go for the ball...Pip was smart to shoot it so quickly, but his own players need to know what he is doing...the URI guys were asleep, none of them moved...if Hines is paying attention he probably gets that board and ties the game.

Proud of that effort last night. Even when it looked like URI was on it's way to walking out of there with a 15 point win, I felt it was a good job by the team to really make URI work for it for 30+ minutes. And then we stormed back. It was great to see.

Not too proud of the students, though. They showed up.... and did nothing. That was depressing to witness.

Right, except it might not have been a lane violation. Someone said it earlier but the refs were asleep at the wheel on that one. They should have known the situation as well as UMass and URI should have known it and been paying attention.

Baldwin was all in for team huddles, at least on the TV.

It was a lane violation. If Pip or McCall thought it wasn’t they would have fought a bit. No? Still pictures that Matty V asked to be posted on twitter showed it was a violation. Pip admitted it after the game, too. It was very close, but he left early.
