No Pip for most of the second half? Malik fouled out? Lasalle scoring at will in the post? No problem. Great to get a Tourney win! Really great job by the guys...

an old saying came to mind watching CJ play tonight: Refuse to Lose! Perhaps some luck in Lasalle shooting 6% on 3s. CJ led in scoring and assists; second in rebounding. Great leadership.

Wasn't pretty but a win is a win. Gotta take better care of the ball tomorrow. 15 turnovers should've lost the game. Very lucky La Salle was just 1-16 from beyond the arc. Looking forward to an NBCSN broadcast tomorrow with competent announcers.

Many thanks to McKinney! Without his post I never would have found the game on 1256 in Maine.

Everyone came to play today. Our best player was arguably our only player who had an “off night” and with Pipkins on the bench with 4 fouls, the team went on a 10-0 run. That was the changing point of the game. CJ, Hines, Miller, KTM, Unique, all did their part tonight.

Fenway, FWIW, Josh referred to the zone frequently but I didn't hear him say anything about it being unusual.that said, I didn't hear the 1st half on the radio.

WFH tomorrow...so I can see the game. Thanks you nor'easter!

BTW..where's Eldon...shouldn't he be here praising CJ? :P

Watched the game and am still trying to figure out how they won. No Pip in second half, Hines fouling out, no problem. Not even a particularly good night for Pierre. This team has big balls. The good news is that Pipkins will be well rested for tomorrow's game. Great, great effort.

The box score is very interesting. We had 10 more turnovers than they did but we outrebounded them by 8 which almost negates the turnovers. And our guards did a great job on the boards. Pierre with 6 is a big number for him. We finally hit a team that couldn't put it in the ocean (1/16 from 3) and it couldn't have come at a better time.

I'm hoping that the guys now have the tournament jitters out of their system. Can't wait for tomorrow. This is a gutsy group.

Politically incorrect, however I did get a chuckle out of it.

I watched the online stream, it was two Stadium TV announcers. I was surprised they didn't immediately pick up the cact Umass was in a zone defence and they never did. Goes to how how much we rely on the announcers to give us info. They were not terrible just not very prepared.

Did I see the box score correctly? 16 assists combined for both teams? Is that even possible?
