PoG - La Salle

Post by MikeUMA » Sat Feb 19, 2005 4:53 pm

What won't show up in this box score: Stephane Lasme's defense on A-10 PoY candidate Steven Smith. Smith was held to 2-11 shooting, and only 12 points, 9 off his average.

Bob & Kevin went with Lasme for their PoG, and Ray for the Sub.

What's your call?

Mr. Lasme was a machine on the boards. We allowed 3 pt shots and Lasme made that stategy work because he cleaned the glass: 9 Defensive boards. 8 pts & 4 boards on offense. Oh and he had 4 blocks.

You have to love the effort we are seeing from Mr. Lasme. He came here from Gabon. Raw with some great upside and he has just worked his butt off to become a good D1 player. Game Ball.
Insert cornball rah rah slogan rhyming w/"Ford" here.

I also had to go with Lasme, Maxwell was his usual very productive steady self but Lasme was the W today :D

I love Lasme and give him the game ball too, but this continues to be the most worthless take going. Just why is Lasme "raw"? Because someboy labeled him that before ever seeing him play? Nobody every really says other than to repeat the cliche. Is it because he is from Gabon? If so, what does THAT mean? Is it because he wasn't highly recruited? I don't see the link there either?

After Maxwell, Lasme might just have the "smoothest" game on the roster. The fact is that Lasme was second on the team in FG% last season and leads the team this year, runs the floor extremely well, has very nice moves to the hoop, blocks shots, thows a nice drop down pass, and rebounds. His only problem has been foul trouble. Now, where do we get the "raw" part of the equation. Deli is skilled, but Lasme is "raw", huh?

Yep. Oliver Lamoroueux. He came here from Canada. Raw with some great upside.
