I fully expect some players from South Carolina to follow Frankie Martz over to UMass.

Hope they are bigs! Well maybe a guard too! I think we have a few current players that will flourish in his system.

I believe that Stevenson and Couisnard would be grad students, so one of them might be a good get.

For those concerned about Martin relating to todays players.

Ordered my season tickets and made my donation to the basketball excellence fund after the announcement today.

Feels to me like he's the right guy, in the right place, at the right time.

I can’t be the only but..

Every time I’ve asked non UMass fans about the Frank Martin hire, most of their responses are…

“Whoa I didn’t know Frank is bald now”

If that's an issue, I have enough for him and me.

This analyst has compiled a list of the top transfers in the portal. Stevenson is #10. If that's the case, he can't get here fast enough. Couisnard is #23.

Found out that Frank Martin developed alopecia from Covid complications. Damn!

Jack wrote: Fri Mar 25, 2022 1:14 pm Has anybody heard anything in terms of the duration and amount of the compensation ? I presume its a minimum 5/yr K w/options to renew. Based upon recent discussions I am guessing its 1.8M-1.9M per yr + incentives. But those are just guesses on my part. Its always interesting to see the details of the terms.
Matty V. reported 5 years $8.5 million. Average of $1.7m/yr but not equal year-to-year. Guessing the contract is structured so that Frank can get the $3m he is owed from South Carolina as well.

When sitting at a bar right before tip for the game against Dayton - I was sitting next to two older KU fans, husband and wife. The wife asked "Where is Frank Martin coaching now?" and I replied - He's at S. Carolina but I'm hoping UMass can get him if they fire him. They laughed and said "UMass! He'd have to be on really hard times for that!"

No, condescending Jayhawk fans, he's just ready to return a great program to glory and cement his place as one of the best coaches in CBB history.

If he resurrects this program and UMass is relevant again, he'll get a ton of press. I would love to see the program elevate, Frank & his family loving it at UMass, and he sticks around a while.

As someone else posted, I really like the leaders of the mens & womens hoop teams, football team, and hockey program right now. Successful, experienced people with good character. Excited for UMass athletics in 22-23

He just turned 56 the other day. So say he has five really good years, I can't see any P5 athletic dept hiring him at age 61. I'm really hoping and thinking it's possible that he stays here until he retires. Assuming he wins games.
