While I really like what I'm seeing from this team so far, and I think the defense they're playing is a sustainable winning formula, this is not sustainable, and something they need to improve on as the season continues (hopefully starting today):
Even though Martin emphasizes post offense and giving big men the ball under the basket, the team has struggled massively with efficiency at the rim. Against the Racers they shot 8-22 on layups. Against Towson they shot 50 percent, and against Colorado they were 55 percent inside the restricted area. The Minutemen also shoot 61 percent from the stripe so far this season. UMass has mostly attempted high percentage shots but converted them at a low rate. Despite being poor in layups and free throws and ranking towards the bottom of the country in 3-point rate, the Minutemen manage to win games.

Was killing me how they kept feeding his son who took contested hook shots that he barley got off the floor when attempting

I've been a sports fan for a long time (my 51st year of going to UMass basketball). It never ceases to amaze me how many so called fans fixate on the negative regardless of outcome. UMass overcomes a 10 point deficit in the last 6 minutes on a clutch buzzer beater by Noah that will go down in the annals of UMass hoops. And you're wetting your panties because in your infinite wisdom Brandon Martin is playing too much? My only conclusion is that many are sports fan because they need a venue to play out their real world frustrations. Go UMass.

The break after tomorrow should really help him. It may take a while for him to work his way in, but the talent is there
Not being able to be with team over the Visa issue hurt him, but I think he steadily gets in the flow and is a big part of the mix by conference play.
no hesitation on the one shot he took and drained it. gotta love that.

keep forcing them to take 3's. they only shot 12% from 3's against Tulsa.

RJ is AWESOME but he’s missing an assist or two a game not kicking it out from the lane. He’ll learn

I love Brandon’s minutes when they are played like they have been today. Awesome on defense and on the boards and not even looking at the rim.

he does a great job of grabbing his misses. would love to see him kick it back out to run the offense. he forces he shot back up often and by then hes surrounded by defenders.
