Due to past game winning shots.. Noah had a case of Hero ballnatwam2547 wrote: Wed Jan 11, 2023 8:59 pm I know he’s our guy in those moments but Noah really needs to trust his guys and pass the ball when he’s doubled twice like that. 15 seconds is plenty of time to get a better shot off than that.

That’s what you took out of this game?inthescoop wrote: Wed Jan 11, 2023 8:59 pm A reminder to us fans, you may be upset now but this time won’t hit it’s peak (if it ever does) until the end of the season
I definitely think that we have a real shot at winning the A10 conference tourney

That’s quite the take. Frank did a good job assembling a roster, but his in-game coaching has been nothing short of pathetic. Just absolutely mind-blowing stupidity that is inexcusable from a coaching staff.inthescoop wrote: Wed Jan 11, 2023 8:59 pm A reminder to us fans, you may be upset now but this time won’t hit it’s peak (if it ever does) until the end of the season

When it appeared (to most people anyway) that the play had broken down, why didn’t FM call a TO?

Anyone else think that the refs were actually really good tonight?

Anyone thinking that was the play called by FM is clueless. Noah is enough of an established veteran to recognize his need to get rid of the ball when doubled. I love Noah's game and what he's given this program but he was badly out played tonight. This team is good, it's talented and they'll have it figured out by A10 tourney time.

That actually was the play Frank called - he said the idea was to get the ball in Noah's hands, have RJ flash to the foul line and Cross do some kind of loop out of the corner to the elbow - if Noah couldn't get to the hoop he was supposed to pass it off to one of them. he said Noah got too deep and at that point the play was dead. Like someone mentioned earlier, he should have taken a timeout when Noah got trapped. When the play broke down there was still 4 seconds left - if he calls TO as soon as he was trapped they have the ball along the baseline or very close to it and at that point 4 seconds is a lifetime. I think it was a good play call just very bad execution and Frank had a brain fart by not calling timeout - the players don't have to call it - the coach can call it at any point - I think that's on Frank. Not Trigger wrote: Wed Jan 11, 2023 10:09 pm Anyone thinking that was the play called by FM is clueless. While I like the enthusiasm, I might reconsider your extra zero that you like to put on your prop bets.inthescoop wrote: Wed Jan 11, 2023 8:59 pm A reminder to us fans, you may be upset now but this time won’t hit it’s peak (if it ever does) until the end of the season

Re: Game 16: 2022-23 La Salle (1/11)
another mistake in my opinion is how he handled he Dominguez situation - how about making him run some suicides tomorrow in practice - I understand Frank is trying to make these kids accountable and better humans, but whatever DD said to the ref, he didn't get a T. Frank asked that ref what DD said and once the ref told him, he pulled him and DD never got back in the game. If it was so bad why didn't the ref T him up? Dominguez was having one of his best games of his career and was single handedly keeping them in the game - Frank decides to prove a point and he hurts the whole team in the process.

Agree completely. Also not thrilled for FM to talk in the post-game about the team not playing defense. I thought defense was his forte so if their not doing it, I blame him more than the players.MakeMullinsGreatAgain wrote: Wed Jan 11, 2023 10:23 pmThat actually was the play Frank called - he said the idea was to get the ball in Noah's hands, have RJ flash to the foul line and Cross do some kind of loop out of the corner to the elbow - if Noah couldn't get to the hoop he was supposed to pass it off to one of them. he said Noah got too deep and at that point the play was dead. The substitutions continue to be mind-boggling. Cross, DD & Noah were carrying the offense in the first half and then he sits all three down at the same time. And, while it didn't matter given Noah's decision to play hero ball, how was DD not in on the final possession over Gapare? I understand Gapare is the greater talent, but DD right now is simply a far superior offensive player.
The bottom line is that I'm in the camp that feels the FM simply got outcoached tonight.

Saying it was the play called and then saying the play was for Noah to pass when he didn't pass is the same as saying it wasn't the play called.
Do agree that FM needed to call a TO when Noah was trapped.
