If they pull out a win in week zero I think they win 5-7. If they lose week zero, it is likely they go 0-4 before a win. I think Merrimack, New Mexico and Arkansas State are wins. Toledo,Auburn, Liberty, PennState all losses by more than two scores. NMS, EM, Miami, UConn are one score games (likely losses). Army a two score loss. If they win week one, EM and UConn are the likely two flips to wins and army becomes a toss up with Miami. If week zero is a shit show, Merrimack and New Mexico become the only two wins.Quann wrote: Thu Aug 03, 2023 3:19 pm ^^^^
Probably was hoping he was hiring the next hot young up and coming coach I guess. Bell's resume didn't dictate that he was going to be that but I'm giving Bamford the benefit of the doubt. I think the Molnar hire was still worse. That was the most important hiring after the debacle of the Kevin Morris years heading into FBS and we blew it.
Sorry back to the 2023, we seem to always get dragged into past coach talk on this board. I like the over win total (+2.5) with much improved run d and a top 40 overall defense.

UConn game has been moved back to being an on-campus game at McGuirk, scheduled for November 25th.

^. Are they going to make it part of the Season Tickets and bill or make it a purchase for all?

It was already part of the season ticket package no matter where it was going to be played. Now it will just be your regular seatsTruBluMaroon wrote: Fri Aug 04, 2023 1:29 pm ^. Are they going to make it part of the Season Tickets and bill or make it a purchase for all?

The one home game guaranteed to draw a good crowd from both schools, a true geographic rival, and it’s being played on thanksgiving weekend when no one is on campus. I just shake my head at the ineptitude of the athletic department sometimes.

There was an up charge. Hike games are $25 a game. I will gladly donate my extra $25. It has to be identified/noted.rsox1221 wrote: Fri Aug 04, 2023 3:47 pmIt was already part of the season ticket package no matter where it was going to be played. Re: 2023 Season
It is a gamble. It is worth it. Army drew a bunch of fans for the same day last year. If we want to be a big time school we should be able to draw 15k for a rivalry game no matter when it happens. Everyone should show up. This is an audition game. If the crowd is small, bad news .Quann wrote: Fri Aug 04, 2023 10:06 pm The one home game guaranteed to draw a good crowd from both schools, a true geographic rival, and it’s being played on thanksgiving weekend when no one is on campus. Re: 2023 Season
I get it but how can’t UConn and Umass figure out to play the game any other weekend? It’s the only Saturday between late August and early December when kids are back home! It’s just bizarre to me.

And of course, in the ongoing history of everyone being in this together; housing will not reopen dorms until SundayQuann wrote: Fri Aug 04, 2023 10:57 pm I get it but how can’t UConn and Umass figure out to play the game any other weekend? Re: 2023 Season
Its a lousy date for that game w/no students on campus. They'd be better off playing on 11/25 in East Hartford.

Neutral site didn’t have to be just Gillette and Fenway; would have liked to see the Drink Bowl , alternate between Polar and Dunkin
Re: 2023 Season
Why is it at McGuirk? Not that I’m complaining but what happened to the neutral site?

UMass was giving up a home game, and it seems they couldn’t work out the details for a neutral site game.jjmc85 wrote: Sat Aug 05, 2023 1:41 pm Why is it at McGuirk? Not that I’m complaining but what happened to the neutral site?
Re: 2023 Season
Someone elsewhere said that Gillette was unavailable because it might be needed for a Revs playoff game? Who knows. That's a "dead weekend" and pathetic that the game is scheduled for McGuirk on that day.
Re: 2023 Season
I may be wrong, but I get the feeling that the reason the game is being played at McGuirk is that nobody in eastern New England gives a flying f*ck about a UMass-uconn football game.
