The Walker kid committed to us today.
Really intrigued by him. Plays for good high school and AAU programs. Kind of sounds a bit like a David Roddy-type of player - strong and skilled but not incredibly long and athletic. Those kinds of players — where they aren’t really easy to pigeonhole into a position because their size/build doesn’t lend itself to that but rather are just good basketball players — can be really successful in college.
Not sure if it was one or the other, but it seems like it came together pretty quick once Abdullahi chose Princeton.
First couple of 2024s seem like really good pieces.
Agreed. You need some beef to complete your roster. They can't all be TJ Weeks' or Gapare's. Especially for Frank's vision.

I suspect we stopped recruited Squire when we got Lewis Walker. Based on the little I know, I think UMass got the better of the two.

After seeing our freshmen in person on Tuesday I have all the trust in the world in Frank and his staff's eye for talent.

I don't think getting talent will be an issue either. Getting them all to jive, win, and then getting that talent to stick around year over year... that's where the money is earned. The last part probably being the most important in this day and age.
Stop waiting for UMass to do something big and help UMass do something big. - Shades

^ 100%. We're not naïve and know that there is going to be roster turnover every year. It's not the good old days any more. With that said, we apparently have a well stocked collective, and these recruits are coming to play for Frank. There has to be buy in, and we can't turn the roster over every year. I'd like to see us retain half the roster, which doesn't sound like much, but 6-7 returners every year would bring much more stability than we've seen in a long time.

Nate has signed but I haven't seen anything about Walker signing yet. Maybe it's just me, but I worry about things like this.

I have enjoyed building a relationship with Coach Martin and the staff at UMass.
After a conversation today, I am thankful to receive a full scholarship offer from Coach!

^ He lists himself as 6'10 on his Twitter Page. I hope he can reclass to 2024 if we land him.
