Best UMass team since 2014. They’re gonna finish top 4 in the A10 if they stay healthy. The defense they played from the 10 minute mark of the first half onward was elite. Sometimes you don’t hit shots, it is what it is. Incredible effort and I hope they walk out of that building with their heads high thinking they can win the league.

Their effort and taking care of the ball should keep them in every game. To reach their ceiling though they have to get better consistency from the perimeter shooting. Then they won’t need all of those offensive rebounds.

Almost pulled it out in a game in which their 4 guards shot 4 for 31 and 0 for 15 from 3. Pretty encouraging I think.

I would like to see them use Cross more in the post. He was great down there in the 3-4 times they got him the ball down there.

The sweater vests must be soaked sweating this one out
If Diggins had made the 3 when JN got fouled and if JN made both free throws , it would have been a TIE😁…….BUT neither happened…..so they were still down 5…..
I was hoping when they were down 2 Diggins would come back and hit a three after a tough shooting day, to take the lead. Not meant to be

Yup, just one of those days. And with that, they kept fighting back to make it a game. Great character

When you take 19 more shots, 12 more boards (including a dominating 20-6 Offensive), with only 8 TO's . . . You usually win!

20 offensive rebounds can only happen when your shooting is...not good. With that said, GREAT effort and it does show we can beat any team in the league.

If we keep up the intensity and strong D, this could be a special year.
Probably the best team we play, we play away, shoot terribly and still almost win. Lots of room for optimism.

If a loss can be a building block, this one is it.

Once Dayton Pt guard went out it was pretty obvious we were the better team. This should have been a W

My only concern is 3 point shooting. The last 3 games have been really bad. It didn't cost us against Duq. or Siena, but I can see teams playing a zone, clogging the paint and daring us to shoot from the outside. On the flip side, our D and rebounding will get us some points and keep us in games. Let's see how we come out against a LaSalle team that's averaging 77 points a game (giving up 72).
