Much more sleek and the university could put all of its chips in on basketball and hockey. UMass has a well known brand. Use it in positive ways. You have a good hockey program. You have a good basketball coach. Take advantage of it. There is a reason that UMass and BC are going to struggle in football going forward- Massachusetts does not care about college football.
Every school that has done this has ended up in worst shape athletically. Just look at BU, Northeastern and Hofstra. None of them have had any sustained basketball success since dropping football.
Look at BU hockey. If UMass ever were to cut football, it should try to not emulate but surpass that.
UMass Football: 22-3 at home when I was a student.

Brutal game, but not surprising.

Things won't change immediately, but Ryan needs to go much sooner than June 30th.
Why do you think Ryan's leaving June 30th? DM me if you do not want to pubically say it...

Because I think the Thorr hire is a transition plan. I've posted that in other threads (Thorr thread mostly)... feel free to look at those posts for why I think so.

I’m happy that someone in authority had enough confidence to feel that they would need that many fireworks!!

I really do not mind shooting off the fireworks. Got to celebrate any success you have. The kids work hard, it is too bad most of them should not be on a college football team but that is not their fault but the fault of the coach (who needs to go bye bye) and the worthless gm of football bambi bambi.

Likely to see another round of commentary on all of this today with the pregame shows starting right about now... hope you all have thick skin.

THIS is hilarious

"UMass celebrated a fourth quarter field goal by shooting off a ton of fireworks. The kick brought them to within 42 points of Northern Illinois. / @cfbcampustour"
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.

The fireworks are a night time treat and allocated for each score.
Be proud of the present and look to the future.

The fireworks after not getting shutout is embarrassing and making a mockery of UMass football. It's beyond shameful and the kids waving their shirts just making a embarrassing scene. This team has given up including coaches and players. You could have Belichick or Vince Lombardi coaching and this team sucks. Why should Bailey even try for another INT? Never should have been sent into the locker room. shameful. Molnars teams would run this team off the field.

Zoomass=Fraud Alum. Graduates in 1984 and never returns to Amherst.
why the hate??? B.A. Geosciences then got a B.S. math and CPA later. no fraud. Watch every game UMass is on TV every sport. Sorry, last time I saw a UMass football game was at Gillette and before that Umass vs BC at the Centrum back in the day.
I’m sorry Zoo, just having a Silky Johnson Hater of the Year moment. But you have to admit not being back on campus for 42 years while being a so called die hard is kind of insane. You always post about Encore so I’m assuming you still live in MA. Alums travel from all over the country to get back to campus for a game and you can’t make a 1:30 drive once in 42 years.
yes if I donated half of what I blow at Encore to UMass we would have a stadium to rival AT&T Stadium (Jerry's World).   I'm not a die hard fan.........I'm a degenerate gambler

Appreciate your concern, but when UConn went 1-11 and barely beat Yale I didn't troll the Boneyard and offer the FCS or drop football options.
