I hate to see the group of 5, get left out. Have a 4 team play in like basketball.

JMU plays BYU
Tulane plays Notre Dame

The powers that control the sport get their way, and the group of 5 still get a shot

Saban and Herbstreet were crying so hard about JMU and Tulane. Hopefully those two do well on the post season to shut up the critics
We will see. I can't imagine the break between P4 and G6 is going to come that fast. The ACC may explode though.

Would love it if they just eliminated the conference championship games but they are huge money maker so it likely won’t happen. Play a 13 or 14 game regular season and that way no weird flukey teams get in via a conference championship.

The last talk of giving ACC etc. two bids is off the table now after this year.

What a story, what a turnaround by Indiana football

They earned it

This is a thread of bowls on the MAC board: https://csnbbs.com/thread-1018731-page-3.html

Like this being almost a week before Christmas and a younger me would drive there.
Not checking, but looks like the MAC and CUSA champs playing.

Steve I love ya but you want the top 20% of teams to make it? Too much, keep the college football regular season sacred, 12 is my max but I know they'll eventually go to 16. I like 7. Top team gets a bye to the semis and bottom 6 play the first weekend. It's perfect and keeps the regular season games make or break each week (as I mentioned before eliminate the conference championships).

curious to see a lot of power 5 teams decline their bowl invites. The bowl games outside the playoff are gonna just be filled with the mid majors i imagine. I guess thats good. more exposure?

FCS has 20 and they play a 12 game regular season, now. The bowl system is what needs to be reimagined or junked. There are 84 teams needed to fill the bowls right now. That means 36 non playoff bowls. Too many. Should there be bowls for non playoffs, yes.

Why punish JMU and Tulane and force them to play a play in game? The rules were posted well in advance about auto qualifiers. It’s the top five ranked conference champs. They both did that.

If there was a play in Alabama and Miami- who did not win conference championships- should play BYU and Notre Dame.

Steve, I think it’s time for a MAC intervention. You have said a lot of crazy things about the conference but I think even thinking about driving to Mrytle Beach for a Kennesaw State/western Michigan bowl game just because UMass is in the same conference as WMU is next level.
