Just watched the second half. From down 11 at the break to win by five. Such a great half for Yahmani - something like 10 for 12 - and a career high 28. We keep talking about "fun to watch" but that continues to be the vibe.

The Kent State coach was a separate show. The guy complained about EVERYTHING.
"Jack didn’t have any envy in him," Calipari said. "He was the greatest coach to ever coach here."

I had to monitor the game from my phone yesterday as I was tied up with some other stuff. It was looking bleak there for a while, but the team rallied for a great comeback. You need your best players in situations like that, and Yahmani really stepped up. Chinenye got into double digits for the second game in a row and seems to be improving in her role under the basket.

That wasn't how I expected that game to go, but it isn't easy to win on the road. Hopefully this gets them prepared for Miami, which will be a real challenge. Sadly, I'll miss the Central Michigan game as my wife and I will be flying back from a business trip.

A bit of sunshine in an otherwise uninspired fall/winter seasons from the men, so far.
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.

MAC women hasn't been a multi-bid league since 2019, but this is as good a shot as any to be a resume builder.

^ They made 12,3 pointers and they average 8 made per game so we need to correct that and this team needs another consistent scorer. I thought that would be Franks, but she's been in a severe slump since her first few games!!

Posted in the men's forum which will probably get more eyes, but I'll post here as well. Tickets to either the men's or women's game today are good for BOTH games. Get to the Mullins for a full day of hoops!
Doubleheader - Tickets Are Good For Both Games
Your ticket will grant you Mullins Center admission starting at 12 p.m.
No Re-Entry, you must remain in the Mullins Center between games.

For the women's game - men's basketball ticket holders can sit in the general admission sections located behind the team benches.

For the men's game - women's basketball ticket holders can sit in Upper Sections D and E.

We tried hard to cough up an 18 point lead, but McKayle took over with an outstanding 4th quarter. She is excellent.

Actually won by two: 74-72.

Central Michigan is a pretty decent team. They were 9-5 and 3-1 in league coming into the game, Yamami had a very big 4th quarter but she did struggle the first 3 quarters. She made all the shots down the stretch. All in all a win is a win

I went to both games and very happy to see us go 2-0. I want to give some props to Lilly Ferguson. Her role is a bit like Jayden's on the men's team. She hustles, gets deflections, keeps balls alive and rebounds. Not the best shooter but she makes up for it in many other ways.
