Games 1 & 2, 2020-21 Northeastern (12/11 & 12/13)
Re: Games 1 & 2, 2020-2021 Northeastern (12/11 & 12/13)
Don't see Sunday's game on the ESPN+ schedule. It looks like all home games for all A-10 teams are on ESPN+, unless NBC or CBS has them on, but only a few road games are there.

They couldn't practice hockey because the ice would melt. Then I'd be watching... nothing. Just sitting there watching... nothing. Sort of like how the last few months have been.DoctorJ wrote: Sat Dec 12, 2020 10:26 amYou would be warming Matthews and watching hockey practice while we are playing in Cabot Cage. According to this, Sunday's game is in NU's Cabot Center (cage), where NU women play, not Matthews. And yes Matthews is a cold place to play without spectators.

Did someone compare Tre to Danilo Gallinari?

What are we looking for tomorrow? I know Coen will make adjustments and try to limit Tre and Javohn. I doubt we get 54 between them, it might be closer to 35 or 40. If we get 54 again our ceiling is very high.
Here are my questions:
1. Can MM make adjustments to contain Walker and keep him under 20? He's a 6'0 very quick guard. JG is our best defender but I don't want him fouling out guarding Walker.
2. Will we see better shooting from Carl and TJ?
3. Will Dibaji play? If he doesn't play then it's a situation worth keeping an eye on.
So glad to have games to watch again.

I'm sure whenever Tre gets the ball the guards on that side will drop down to double team which opens up the outside. I think TJ and/or Carl will light them up tomorrow.

I can only speculate that Dibaji and Preston might have been having tough time in a class and needed time off to focus on academics to stay eligible. Some teachers with tenure are not adjusting to online teaching well and are making it brutal for kids who are facing similar challenges on their side. Let them focus on academics and have them for conference play is probably the strategy. I feel for these kids. It's really hard to be a student during covid, let alone a student athlete. Keeping them in my prayers. They both seem like good people.

We don't need Carl playing 30 mins or hoisting 15 shots a game. He'll have his occasional night, but will McCall play him 25 mins + a game if he continues to shoot under 40%/34%?69MG wrote: Sat Dec 12, 2020 12:38 pm What are we looking for tomorrow? This is new territory for DW.......he hasn’t been at the same school two years in a row since early high school....maybe he never had to worry about maintaining standards to stay in school..?.....DoctorJ wrote: Sat Dec 12, 2020 1:00 pm I can only speculate that Dibaji and Preston might have been having tough time in a class and needed time off to focus on academics to stay eligible. First line I saw has us as 2 point favorites.... seems really low. I don’t think UMass played great on Friday, I think they played good and are much more talented than NU. NU will likely raise their game, but UMass has plenty of room for improvement too.
I’d like to see TJ be more efficient from 3. I’d like to see if Degray is still a force on the offensive glass and if JG is still one of the best guys on the court. I’d also like to see Fernandes have more impact out there.

Didn't know where to put this but it might be my favorite dig at BC BB:

On second thought, it's best if you keep avoiding UMass. Wouldn't want to ruin our SOS.
Re: Games 1 & 2, 2020-2021 Northeastern (12/11 & 12/13)
I could see DeGray having a big game tomorrow. They'll be doubling Tre all day and this will give him room to get some post moves. He's a big kid and you can see he's got a nose for getting to the ball. Another inside presence would be huge for this team.
Like to see TJ light it up tomorrow. Kid is a pure sniper and our best shooter. When he gets fully back like he was last year, he's gonna add another strong element to this offense. Gonna be tough to stop this offense as the year goes in
We come out strong tomorrow and take this one by 10+

I would like to see us get a large enough lead so Gasperini gets some more minutes. I hope he can show he is capable of contributing while playing in this season's up tempo style.
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.

This is a Northeastern home game. Their conference sets TV designations.Berkman wrote: Sat Dec 12, 2020 8:28 amFlowsports did our FB games last year. For BB most of the time it was/is ESPN +. Super surprised to see that UMass opened up as only -1.5 point favorites, but it has quickly climbed up to -3.5 already since then.
Over/Under 146.

Would like to see Noah stay out of foul trouble and get into the flow of the game. I figure they will really try to double and triple Tre.. Probably front him. So the big adjustment will be how does everyone else respond. There were times last year where when Tre was off the floor or they couldn't get him the ball the offense fell apart and led to bad shots. So good play by the other guys will be key. I also want to see Carl keep taking the ball to the basket like he did. I think his freshman year shooting stats were an anomaly and scoring by driving to the hoop will keep him on the floor
