The guy is tough as nails and has some talent running but he couldn’t make the throws. If they went with Olson to start and designed the offense around his skill set they would have won a couple more games.

In the long run, I like the triple option for a team in UMass’ position. But year 1 couldn’t have gone worse for implementing that style of play.

Exactly... Casula did a terrible job assessing the room and working in an offense around the talent he had, but rather forced a system on those players that are not at all designed for it. It then took more than half a season before he started making adjustments. Even then, we still never saw anything under center or a jumbo package at the goal line.

And this bring up another point that I've talked about before... Brady was already stunted by the coaching his first year. He regressed during year 1 because of a terrible offensive game plan and then had to deal with this? Yikes.

As inept as the offensive coaching has been the last few years I'm pretty sure they didn't direct Brady to throw it the other team and miss wide open guys.. you're accurate or you're not

Playcalling matters though Insider. Casula was so inept he kept calling 15-20 yard outs when it was freezing cold and rainy at Texas A&M. When you continually set your players up to fail don't be surprised when they do. Shocker that he was able to connect on most of the quick seam passes up the middle during that game and every out pass was incomplete. It's akin to Fatty Patricia "running" this Pats offense and destroying whatever potential Mac Jones had heading into this second season and grinding it into the dirt.

^ I recall Charlie Weiss being a pretty good offensive coordinator back in the day and your negative descriptions of some others would be your terminology used in your description of him. Same with Brian Dabol…..please grow up and stop putting negative discriptions as part of your evidence…..wrong audience.
If that is the only thing you have to say, please just end it.

Quann.. He made a ton of dumb calls this year.. I thought Dzuro was the only QB that fit his offense but he never played eventhough he had by far the best numbers in a limited sample. Bottom line he didnt adjust the offense to his players. I thought he got a little better when it was too late but we had no talent at the position... look I wanted them to move on from Casula.. all I am saying is when good coaches have bad talent they look bad.. when bad coaches have good talent they look good.. how else can you explain Casula's Ferris st. teams??

Remember losing to EMU by a touchdown at their place in a game we should have won? Well, they won their bowl game and finished 9-4!

If they can do it, we certainly can. #flagship

Dzuro was injured to start the season and then got banged up again when he did play. He wasn’t practicing at points during the season due to injury according to DB. I agree he would have been the best option. He wasn’t healthy enough.

That’s a good question I can’t. Maybe he should have stayed coaching D2?

I expect improvement next season both offensively and defensively. Offense from pathetic to marginally decent and defense from decent to good.

Well if you EXPECT it, then I guess we are all good for next year.
