TIL we are the highest ranked public school In New England on the National Universities list, including Uconn. (They are 70th, we are 58th).
I wonder how much UNH would move up from 109th (next ranked) if they had FBS?
Is there any proof that going from FCS to FBS improves academics?
Just showing the numbers only:

2012 first year of FBS: #94
2025 rankings: #58

UNH: 2012 #101
2025: #109

UConn with much more athletic success:
2012 FBS: #58
2025: #70

UMass is doing something right, regardless of the football program.

I just went on campus for the first time in 10 years, and I was like whoa.. that's new, oh that's new, oh that's also new, a whole bunch of times. I had no idea there were new apartments on Mass Ave across from Haigis Mall.

Anyone have any idea what our football NIL figures look like? I've given a bit (nothing crazy) over the past few years, but have no idea what we're working with. The basketball collective seems to be transparent with numbers and even sends emails when they sign with athletes.

It does! UConn has done the same, hasn't helped them for some reason.

Got an answer a few minutes after this. Jacob Repper from WMUA said they had "low 6 figures" this past off-season. By way of comparison, UConn had 500k.

This post supposedly from Coach Brown’s wife was just loaded online…if true, this speaks volumes about the alumnae base not supporting nor caring about the FBS “strategic initiative”…good luck recruiting a quality coach with this NIL budget…

Pretty confident she posted an inaccurate figure and the MR Collective (or at least Corey) stated as such after her post.

As a Midnight Ride member, it's a lot more than $36k per Mrs. Brown. It's in the low six-figures, which is more than most MAC schools, some who don't even have collectives.

I reviewed that Twitter account, and I seriously doubt it's really Coach Brown's wife. Before 2 days ago it's just a bunch of retweets of right wing twitter accounts. Also the $36k is most assuredly false.

It's a shame what they have done to the Sports Illustrated name. No way would the old SI have put out a ridiculous article like that.

if you're a member, do they have meetings or a space to hear from the founders? I've given one time contributions, not a monthly "membership"

No, that's her. There's plenty of UMass and Don stuff mixed in from over the years.

You can reach out to them at anytime. At the golf tournament in July and in Boston last Feb they talked to the donors.

"To date, the MRC has made almost $300,000 in commitments to current and future (recruited) student-athletes allowing Coach Brown and his staff to recruit the highest ranked class in program history. In order to meet the financial obligations the MRC has made to our young men, we have allowed them to organize the golf tournament and share in the proceeds. Rest assured, the Gridiron Club will still benefit financially from our tournament success this year, but given our larger field (288 golfers) our goal is to provide significant revenue to both the MRC and Gridiron Club."

Is that really confirmed? I woulda figured the real Deborah Brown would have done more tweeting about UMass football and less right wing shit posting. But just an assumption.

Good for her. She’s ride or die for Don, that’s a good wife. Nothing wrong with that.
