^ Ask, and you shall receive:
Mack Brown firing opens 30-day transfer portal for UNC football players
NCAA rules allow a 30-day transfer portal window for college football players to make a decision after a head coaching change.
Similar for basketball, right? I think I read that the UVA players had a transfer window open up when Tony Bennett decided to abandon the program two weeks before the season started.

So I’m not sure how this can be done, but want to bookmark the thought. UMass needs to find a way to reach out to everyone who attends a game not just the person who buy the tickets. Maybe a kiosk to check in and enter to win a prize? I don’t know what, but my friends and I who have gone to one away game a year for the last few years get email messages thanking us for attending and saying they miss us. Something to tap into the hundreds of thousands of alumni in a more personal way other than social media. I know they’ve been working on it, but my friends (all alumni, all 50+) have barely heard for the school aside from me buying tickets and rambling on. The marketing is subpar.

I think we should all take a moment and be really thankful for FCS football. Without it we'd have finished the season 0-12.

Not just FCS, but 45 scholarship NEC football.

Agree. FCS playoffs have started. URI and Villanova advanced while UNH and Richmond went home. The Montana versus Tennessee State game last night was absolutely great. Flagship university and HBCU going at it. Dude for Montana returned two punts for touchdowns.

Yesterday, I noticed UConn whole team second half warm ups. I don’t think I’ve ever seen UMass do that. UConn is not the only team to to warm up like this. I haven’t tracked it. I was wondering how many teams come out and have full team warm ups and whether UMass is in the minority for this. We are a horrible second half team ever since moving up. Hope the new coach figures out how to right that ship. I know it’s not as simple as team warm ups. Coaches actually have to make adjustments, etc. just wondering if anyone else noticed this warm up trend.

^I don’t know and haven’t noticed but is it possible they warm up in the building before coming out?

I work in the marketing technology space and my company has a handful of P4 athletic programs as customers. Whatever software UMass has been using for email marketing is trash. All of their emails end up either in spam or in the "Promotions" tab of gmail. I doubt this is something that is a priority for them but I hope they at least know how bad it is.

What do you think the answer is to that statement Cal?

It's one side of what's going from the guy who acted like a jerk online. Basically, the MRC isn't the preferred collective like MassCo is by UMass. They weren't given funds by UMass that were promised and couldn't pay their bills or the players. Interesting that they could pay for the trophy though...Felt like they were wronged by UMass after stepping up and starting the MRC. Hope one of the local newspapers do a deep dive into this mess.

What funds? Prior to 7/1/25 I didn’t think institutions could give any funds to collectives.

They can not directly pay. They can direct or help line up donors. My assumption is that donors were lined up and their funds were going to be directed to MRC instead of the school with support from the school and that support was withdrawn.
