Looking back to the last game @GM a lot went right for GM in that game that will not go right for them in the game Wednesday. They took 12 more FT's than UMass (31-19), Umass was called for 23 fouls to GM's 15. 4 UMass players had 4 or more fouls and two Cady & Putney fouled out. GM had 1 player with as many as 4 fouls. Statistically they are one of the worst rebounding teams in the country but GM pulled down 19 offensive rebounds that game. As a comparison, in all the other A10 conference games this season GM is averaging 9 offensive rebounds per game and have 4 games where they had less than 9. In the first meeting they scored a lot of 2nd chance points that won't happen Wednesday. Umass wins by 15.

^ Agreed. They are going to have to outrebound Umass and hit a good # of 3's to keep this game under 10. Fordham blowout, no. But something along the likes of the LaSalle game should be expected.

Cady went for 19 & 9 against GM before fouling out. If Cady goes for 19 & 9 again, we win by double digits. It's time for the big guy to turn it on.

I expect the line for this game to be about 14 points.

Cady seems to be forcing his favorite couple of moves, every time. I think he has good hands and touch and should mix in a little move to the middle for a 6 foot jumper. He has also shown a nice little baseline jumper. He needs to go to those to keep defenders honest on his moves to the hoop.

I'm sure they'll be focusing on trying to stop Cady, so there is a huge opportunity for Put & Maxie to have big games. Our size and athleticism should control the boards, and if DG continues his recent scoring surge, I think we win this one by at least 12
Maxie with a double-double, DG another solid all 'round game, and Trey plays big in this one again too. Gaining momentum for the stretch run against the league's top teams!

They need to put this team away early, overwhelm them and not let them thing they're in it. Mason has finally tasted some league success with their win over the Dukes, the worst thing UMass can do is give them hope.

Maybe start the game pressing. Love DG's aggressiveness at the start of the Rhody game. Give the freshmen some minutes, even if it's close or we're behind.

Potential is there for a disruption of travel plans for the Saturday afternoon game. DC has gotten much better, but 6+ inches of snow still creates havoc. High of 40 on Friday will help. But there will still be 400 miles of snow between Amherst and DC.

Has anyone else looked at the GM season box score. They are a tough team to get a handle on. 9 players have started at least 3 games for them. Our starting 5 has started every game. 10 guys play 11 minutes or more and player 11 gets 8 minutes, with only two players (Allen & Wright) getting more than 30.
We seem to have trouble with big guards and in the last game we got torched by Allen (6-3) 21 points and Wright (6-4) 26 points. Jenkins, their 6'7 PF went for 16 and 9.
I'm not sure we press them all game because they have more depth than we have. But we certainly ought to run every chance we get. Most of their bigs are too slow to keep up with Put or Maxie.

Point spread looks to be in the 12.5 area.

Since this game is at home, the Brotherhood will play well. Take the half time lead by 5 and win 13+ in the second half. I hope get see the freshman play more. #JournytotheTourny Lets Go UMass

Are you intentionally leaving out the E in journey and tourney?? not to pick nits, but probably want to correct that before starting a "trending" topic on more public forums...
