I think we need a poll to determine if we need anymore fire DK polls.

We're not talking about trying underhanded shit to get out of the contract, we're talking about buying DK out. There's no reason we should have to "grin and bear it". This is literally the dumbest reason anyone has made as to why Kellogg should be retained past this season.
Well, truth be told, I'd like DK to pay UMass a few million for the shitty job he's done for the past few years and leave. But that's not happening.

So you think he's earning his salary? Details, please.
Retarded artistically. Idiotic in other respects.

Something has to give. I don't think they will pull the trigger because I don't think they have the money for the buyout. So what has to give then? I think he needs to (or be forced to) clean house regarding his assistants and support staff, and/or restructure his contract similar to what Lappas did.

I want to believe, but I just can't anymore.

^ Haven't they made his assistants the patsy once before when they fired Wahlberg? Seriously, the problem is Kellogg, especially when he's one the who's hired all of his assistants and support staff.

As others have said before, it will cost a lot to buyout Kellogg, but it's cost the university a lot of money to keep him here and will cost them a lot more if they continue to keep him.

I don't disagree, but I don't see the trigger being pulled due to the current $ figure situation.

People who want him gone should all go to the games to put some extra money in the coffers and you can also express your displeasure for him in person.

^ It's quite possible. I suspect John Kennedy is the biggest bball donor we have and he firmly supports Kellogg, which is disappointing.

I sent a letter to Bamford expressing my displeasure.

I'm no expert on contracts and UMass' budget situation, but I think you could make a strong case that paying off Kellogg is financially the best move in the long-term and won't be a huge hit in the short term. Maybe they can negotiate a settlement with Kellogg, or he finds a new job that offsets some of the $2M. Maybe a new coach agrees to a back-loaded or bonus/performance loaded contract.

I am sure at some point they will realize the cost of empty seats far outweighs what Kennedy donates.

^ Not sure about that. I think he donated something like $10M for the Champions Center.

Sorry, Mike wanted me to make the other poll have an end date. My intention wasn't to have this thread be one with people posting in it, just voting in the poll.
New polls are good, but maybe not in such quick succession from the last one. Nothing really changed either: we were losing then, we're still losing now.

Circumstances should probably have some significant change: a win we weren't expecting, individual performances, etc.

How many different ways are we going to ask the same question?

What about his assistant coaches? Maybe they are (also) or the issue.

MJ, take a poll
Seriously, nothing is going to happen in season so let's put some energy into giving these guys some support and let the powers that be make their decisions after the seasons over. This season is becoming all about DK and not the players. Let's make it about them and get behind THEM

If they would do a buyout there must be a clause in his contract that they would only have to pay him about 1.5 MIL or something around that.
