I wonder if a Groupon-type deal might bring in some folks who currently have no connnection to UMass? It works with restaurants....go on the Groupon first and return at full price another time because you liked the place. Set aside a couple of hundred Groupon tix for each game.

Booze. For games that happen at night there will be a lot of juniors and seniors that would likely want to be out at a bar or something. If the Mullins could sell alcohol then there's a better chance that some subset of them would show up...especially if there were then an easy way to get out to the Hangar or the bars in downtown Amherst right after the games ended.

I'm sure the Mullins concessions staff don't want spend the evening checking IDs.

I'm sure they can find a thousand kids that would gladly take their place then. The next question becomes will the Amherst board grant the Mullins a liquor license and if so, how often does it get suspended.

When ur paying 3-4 bucks for water, I can't imagine any students will want to hang out at the Bill and drink for $8 or so for a beer.

I’m sure they would do a bracelet type thing. One check in get a bracelet then you can buy.

Some colleges that sell alcohol have ID booths at each entry point. Patrons get their IDs checked and/or scanned at the ID booth and receive a wristband. Concessions only sell alcohol to patrons with wristbands. It’s a fairly efficient method.

It seems Athletics is slowly rolling out alcohol sales at Mullins. You can purchase beer or wine in the Commonwealth Club at hockey games - right at ice level during games. Alcohol is available for purchase at basketball games for courtside seats. Mullins has a liquor license, but I’m not sure if they want to increase their liability by selling to the general public. Only time will tell.

Getting into the Arena is tough enough now that every one has to be wanded and frisked before getting inside. I cant tell you how many people complained about the process. Now i have to take more time and get in line and get my id checked, by the time i get to my seat, the first half will be over. :/

You don't need to sell them for $8. Sell them for $6. It's not rocket science.

Also, not sure if anyone has noticed in the radio broadcasts, but we are officially sponsored by Bud Light.

I know they don't need to sell them for 8, but they will. One, they don't want students getting loaded at games, and 2, if they can get 8 they will. Fuck, a piece of bread tied in a knot is 4, they're not going to sell beer cheap.

This is true but what does it say about the hot dogs, when they are cheaper than the pretzels??
