Game 1, 2018-2019 UMass-Lowell 11/6/18
Re: Game 1, 2018-2019 UMass-Lowell 11/6/18
Looking at the box score for last year's Lowell game is interesting. Three of our five starters are no longer with the team (Anderson, Baldwin, Hines). McLean started last year, probably won't this year, so Pipkins could be the only returning starter. He had a terrible game, 3-13 FGs, 5-12 FTs. McLean Hines and Miller all had among their best games of the year, statistically. Holloway collected four fouls in 16 minutes while scoring 12 points.
Will McLean start tonight? Watching the exhibition, his minutes were so limited I thought for sure he was at the bottom of the rotation. Then I heard about the injury thing. I still think the starting line-up will be Pip, Pierre, Laurent, Cobb and Holloway. If Holloway gets in foul trouble again, I think we'll see a lot of Chatman. Hopefully he can match up ok against Lowell's big men.
Last year, we had a 1 pt lead with 37 seconds left to play. We were down 2 at the half. MM made a good adjustment, getting them to cut down on the 3pt attempts.

I don't see a line for this game. That is unusual when both teams are DI.

No Alex Rivera, suspended for playing in a summer charity game. Not sure how much playing time he was going to see.

While it benefits UMass tonight (yet I don't anticipate it changing the outcome), that really sucks for Rivera. The NCAA is simply the worst when it comes to player rights.skizz wrote: Tue Nov 06, 2018 11:39 am No Alex Rivera, suspended for playing in a summer charity game. Vegas doesn't do lines on games involving low-major teams unless it's in the NCAA tournament. (Although they do put out lines on the Ivies. That's the Penn-Princeton-Harvard-Yale effect. In recent years, the Ivy League has come close to being a solid mid-major conference a few times.)69MG wrote: Tue Nov 06, 2018 10:35 am I don't see a line for this game. Not true - I think the issue is more that it's the first game of the season, and even Vegas would not be able to come up with a legitimate line for these 2 teams that have had plenty of changes.DrG wrote: Tue Nov 06, 2018 1:22 pmVegas doesn't do lines on games involving low-major teams unless it's in the NCAA tournament. Georgia State vs E. Tenn has a line so I don't think that's it.DrG wrote: Tue Nov 06, 2018 1:22 pmVegas doesn't do lines on games involving low-major teams unless it's in the NCAA tournament. This game didn't have a line for this game last year either. I don't think they post lines for America East games during the regular season unless they are against a big conference team.

More lines have come out during the day after more evaluation from Vegas btw.
UMass are -13.5 favorites.
