Watched some of Lasme playing tonight vs. the Knicks. He reminded me of a Dennis Rodman type player - very much a defensive presence, hustled up the court on O, but really just set a bunch of picks, occasionally getting down low for a putback.

The commentators praised Lasme and noted that Wafer was signed even though they felt Lasme was the better player and that they really liked him.

I think if he can improve his offense, he has a future...

From tonight's Celtics Blog: Celtics take a look at Tiny Gallon

http://www.boston.com/sports/basketball ... tics_blog/

"If the Celtics were to sign Gallon, they could assign him to NBDL Maine, but he would have to occupy a spot on the 15-man roster."

I know I'm biased - but isn't it a bit late to be looking at a completely unproven guy who left after his frosh year after only averaging 10.3pts per game? I'm assuming it was either academics or bad advice that told him to leave, because that's not exactly astounding numbers.

Unfortunately, it looks like they did in fact sign him to a non-guaranteed deal. Not good news for Stephane as Gallon will probably take up a NBDL spot for development. I can't see why they would sign him for any other reason.

Gallon was being investigated for taking cash so he had to bolt. But he's only 19 and a big time recruit, so taking off the homer glasses I can see why they might to take a chance.

Much higher ceiling than Stephane, due to his size. And age.

Final cut between Lasme and Wafer. Decision to be made "shortly after the game tonight" per Doc.

Delonte's 10 game suspension could be a deal breaker here for Lasme. Lets hope that isn't the case!

Sounds like Wafer- with Lasme going to the Maine D-League affiliate. Still phenomenal given his position entering camp.

"I'm sure somebody is going to call. I'll wait for the phone call and make my decision from there."

Lasme knows the Celtics have a strong interest in shuffling him to the D-League, something he discussed with the team at the onset of camp. That would keep him in the system should the team decide later (say, after Delonte West returns from a 10-game suspension to start the regular season) that they could use his type of player over an offense-first guard like Wafer.

But Lasme sounded optimistic that another NBA team might come calling based on the impression he made in Boston.

"Doc said he liked me a lot, it came down to the end," said Lasme. "He said I'm an NBA player, that I should be in the league, and not to worry about anything."

Got this from the Celtics ESPN Boston blog.

Sucks....WAfer is useless, although he made a few plays last night.

Wafer sucks. Dime a dozen player. Guy can shoot the ball, but looks lost on offense other than that.

Too bad about Lasme, was looking forward to seeing him green. Truthfully, the C's do need a player like Wafer, just wish it was a better player than him (plus he seems like an arrogant ass, which doesn't seem to fit into the current C's team - i.e. when he tried to score on the last play of a blow-out game last night before being blocked).

Wafer is my new all time least favorite Celtic, taking over from Todd Day and dropping Mark Acres to third.
