In the spirit of State of the Program... Steve and myself (I think there are a few other here too) frequent a site call CSNBBS. It has a decent conference posting page (as well as politics) and one of their "areas" is
https://csnbbs.com/forum-637.html on conference realignment.
I am not gonna lie... it is kind nerdy as it devolves into some serious Fantasy scenario stuff. That said, there is a lot of discussion and commentary on potential conference affiliations and the evolution of the FBS etc...
The reason I am commenting here on this is that it is very rare to see UMass come up in any realignment / movement scenarios -- ever. Making matters worse is the rarity of hearing our new conference mentioned in any Fantasy Realignment Scenarios.
It speaks volumes to the State of our Program from a national perspective and not just in our own little echo chamber. While sobering, it is still interesting to read these perspectives. All are biased towards own favorites to a large degree, but there is definitely little to no respect for Umass / MAC.
There is also a MAC specific thread
https://csnbbs.com/forum-472.html. Umass is discussed there and there is some interesting stuff. Few seem to care much about our football for the moment, but many seem at least optimistic that we can help elevate hoops.

Whiney complaint. The flash sale today for MACtion games should have been delayed until after the window for STH to buy tix at 1/2 off. I get it. Announcement and those games need all they can to get people there. The issue is the last game is senior night and my family (band senior) and I assume many others (player and support staff seniors) who are STH were likely still figuring out how many seats to buy. With no flex tickets this year, it is an added wrinkle. We were told we had until 7/15 to buy tickets before they were released to the public. My plan was to see family on the fourth to figure out what to buy. I assume the place will not be crowded, but trying to get tickets near my actual seats was the plan. Rant over. Now get off my lawn.

Made a post on csnbbs realignment board saying, my belief in UMass Football and the state of the program is in good hands with the new leadership and financial support for the football program. One note of clarification, when talking about our AD, Ryan Bamford. Was referring to my belief in Ryan Bamford was strong and think is a very good AD for UMass.
My life lesson has taught me, you have to wait until people are ready to listen. Some are and some are not, and others will never be ready to listen. By listening doesn't mean you have to believe just listen. That was the point of the thread. To have you all have a say and either enrich me with your ideas, give me pause to think, or change my opinion on the situations.
My main point on my belief in our new Chancellor, Javier Reyes, with the support of our trustees and president has set a new direction for UMass Football. My belief in our AD, who has always had my respect is great. My belief in the new coaching staff was challenged a bit, but is now strong seeing they are able to successful adjust after the Bryant game.
The nagging other points in the thread. First why UMass Football was bad, because we had a poor AD during transition, poor coaches and financial support, with terrible results so it was a no brainer for the MAC to cut UMass lose via the Temple termination clause. The continued lack of institutional support and a decade of independence dug us a very deep hole that you all have witnessed. The stadium investments will be a continued topic of discussing. I was really excited to see the UMass Football Vision 2024 plan. Then with our poor start, the financial support did not waver but was all in. The short term McGuirk enhancements increase by 15-18M. From 10-12M to 25-30M and can't wait to see the plans.
Really believe in a few years, we will have made surprising progress and be a successful football program, like we were for 5 decades from the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and 00's. I've buckled up my heart for this bumpy start, but was excited to see the above. Almost forgot, love being in the MAC and the Group of 6 model is perfectly fine for UMass. We missed the boat to be in power conference like Penn State, West Virginia, Rutgers, Pitt and even to some extent Villanova. They and many others have left in between our final departure. It was long over do and made with the right leadership in place for making it a successful change.

Not whiny at all, thanks for bringing it up. I didn't get an email from the ticket office. Where are you seeing a flash sale? I'm considering going on senior day and would be doubly interested if there's a sale going on.

Juice Stand, I buy 3 season tickets because it gives me more space when just 2 of us go and gives me one extra when my sister and niece come up each year. Plus do sometimes invite others. The plan is to go the game with my daughter and would have an extra ticket for you. I do not see a PM on your account and if you like the ticket PM me. It will be very tight if you sit in the actual seat, but have a feeling you like to be on the sidelines and roam around.

Thanks for the offer, Steve. My tentative plan is to go with some friends, so I'd need more than just the single ticket. I don't mind paying full price, but if there's a 1/2 off flash sale going on, I'd obviously take that.

It was way back in July.
