In the UCF game we got major minutes from 4 freshman, UCF 2. The rest
were mostly sophs and juniors. Seans first game after sitting out a year. UMass led for most of the first half. Game was tied with 17:28 remaining in second half, UCF went up by 10 @ 10:40 remaining. Mass cut it to 8 with 6:27 to go. UCF pretty much put it to them from there. So they were in it for 33.5 minutes.

We had some lapses in the 2nd half but overall, the effort level was very high at both ends, DK managed the game well, we scored a ton of points inside against a team with a strong inside presence, and held their 25 PPG scorer to 10 pts. I don't think NMSU was ready for that kind of defense and up and down offense. We also beat the press very effectively.
Gary Correia had a solid game. TV showed some signs of life with great hustle around the boards. Farrell looked like Farrell, very effective at all the little things. If Sean Carter could learn to catch the ball he would be a much better player. DT continued to improve, and seemed to relish challenging their guards. Freddie took very few outside shots, and drove strong to the hoop many times. There were lots of good things to take away from this game.
