6:00pm Sunday, 16 March 2014: the selection show
I think our seed strongly indicates a few things....
They don't necessarily weigh recent play/wins any more than early season wins.
The A10's overall OOC performance - and RPI - bought us some forgiveness for our up and down A10 performance.
RPI and Top 50 wins/wins against other tourney teams remain huge parts of the selection.

I kind of like that we play the winner of a play in game. That Weds night game will not end before 11:15pm, and then the team will get to the hotel after midnight, hop a flight from Dayton to Raleigh the next day, and have to scout us in less than 48 hours. I think that helps us a lot.
By no means am I looking ahead of our first game, but a Duke matchup would be great. Even just the chance to play them on a national stage - although its practically a home game for them, 15 minutes from their campus. Place would be packed with Duke fans.
And if I can be absolutely high from multiple mollies and some horse tranquilizers, would feel ecstatic to get Michigan, my graduate school alma mater.
I digress, let's take it one step at a time. Just to be even thinking about the possibilities is so much better than prepping for an NIT game.
Now, there is no tomorrow for our guys. Let's see how they respond to the challenge, the "lack of respect".

great question...a lot of people are just assuming that since Duke will play at 7, that UMASS has to play at 9:30...they do have an afternoon session don't they? 9:30 on a Friday night is pretty prime time...not sure Umass vs. Iowa will draw the casual fan...I'm thinking they might be the 2:30 game on Friday...and it wouldn't shock me if they held Duke back until 9:30...possibly moving umass to the 7pm spot.Blutrane93 wrote:^^ Do we know for sure it will be a night game?

UMass-Tenn/Iowa and Duke-Mercer will be in the same session. I'd doubt they give duke the noon time game. The early session will probably be Virginia-Coastal Carolina and Memphis-GW. We'll be bumping into the guys that sent us home Friday. We could be the early game in the night session and Duke playing late. the only time I don't see us playing is the 2:30 gme bcause of the Duke at noon thing.jrdupe wrote:great question...a lot of people are just assuming that since Duke will play at 7, that UMASS has to play at 9:30...they do have an afternoon session don't they? 9:30 on a Friday night is pretty prime time...not sure Umass vs. Iowa will draw the casual fan...I'm thinking they might be the 2:30 game on Friday...and it wouldn't shock me if they held Duke back until 9:30...possibly moving umass to the 7pm spot.Blutrane93 wrote:^^ Do we know for sure it will be a night game?
