As mentioned previously by Minutemaniac, Davidson's not getting in as an at-large. Remember, they lost to us, which is about as bad a loss as you can have on your resume. Damn, that's sad.
Who do you all think could do more damage in the tournament? St Lou or Brownaventure? Coach-wise, I think maybe Brownaventure has an edge on Travis Ford, but it looks like the St Louis we expected all year long is finally hitting their stride. I'd like to see St Louis get there and hopefully do some damage, even though I hate that damn Billiken.

Tough one....I feel like Scmidt could be better than Ford and be a surprise in the tournament. Glad A10 will get at least 2 teams in!

FWIW I think the A10 will have several NIT teams as well.

I ran a logistic regression on KenPom rating vs postseason appearances for the past nine seasons (since the NCAAT expanded to 68 teams in 2011). Using that I summed the probability of making at least the NIT given the current ratings of every team in the A10. I got an expected value of 3.08 teams making at least the NIT.
The A10 teams favored to make
at least the NIT are VCU (89%), Dayton (78%), and Davidson (57%).
And then, of course, the winner of the championship (SLU or Bona) is guaranteed a spot in the NCAAT. So I think that could
potentially be a 4th or maybe even 5th NIT+NCAA combined bid we steal.

Anybody watching the A-10 finals? There's a lot to notice there but I have this one question. Is the play-by-play announcer the same guy who does wait wait don't tell me? What's his name, Peter Sagel? Maybe it's his brother. Sounds just like him!

Wow, what a game. Great fight by St Louis to stay in there and get the lead in the final minutes. Heartbreaker for the Bonnies.
Also, Len, the announcers are Ian Eagle and Jim Spanarkel. Ian also does play-by-play for the NFL and Spanarkel has been doing NCAA hoop for years.

SlU.. worst to the NCAA in a pretty short amount of time. T. Ford.. best coach we've had since Cal

So it should be NCAA T- VCU ,St Loius ...........-NIT-Dayton ,St Bona, Davidson...No?

After watching SLU hoist that trophy, and the joy that they displayed on the court, my passion for UMass hoops is renewed and can be summed up in the following clip:

It's SLU and VCU. Just 2.

If we had 5.... Yessir. And while Bona wasn't likely to make it as an NIT at-large (25% chance), since they did make the conference title game I think one could argue they got robbed. Some have certainly argued Schmidt should have been A10 COY. Oh well.
As it turns out:
NCAAT: VCU, SLU
NIT: Dayton, Davidson
For a shitty year, 4 NIT+NCAA ain't bad. Two of those being NCAA bids isn't
ideal, but it could have been worse. IIRC the current members of the A10 have averaged just north of 4 combined bids per year over their entire history.

A10talk.com story on SLU winning the title, and "Team Blue". McCall's right, we need more guys that buy in to playing for each other and the University.

BuT WhAt AbOuT ThE MaC????
In one of the worst A-10 years I can remember they still doubled up the MAC in Postseason teams (single bid conference in both tournaments).
