That confirms that UMass is a "wealthy" school (by New England public university standards anyway) as well as a wealthy state. I just hope 2026 is not a repeat of 2025 with kids "being two faced" as some players said last year. That to me means they stopped caring and gave up and let the other team win. The Buffalo loss was gut wrenching; reminded me of the blown FG by Lurie vs. Liberty.

But it doesn't feel particularly relevant so long as the subsidy is sustainable. Being on the scale of ~3% of campus revenues, and ~1% of system revenues, that does not feel like a meaningful concern.

The larger concern is what kind of on-field return are we getting for this budget. Pretty piss poor.
Wealthy state.............no one cares. Unfortunately no one cares about UMass football except to goof on it. If we go 0-13 this year I think that triggers the MAC leadership to basically put us on notice. They (or any conference) can't have a member go winless year after year. Big East booted Temple in 2004.

BC's 23-24 Football budget was $44.1 mil
Just for perspective.......

Why would you only say this once?

I've said it many times. How does he keep his job? it's been 10 years. I thought ADs come and go.

I merged the "Just Lovely" thread from the Football form into this Bamford thread, as it speaks to how things are going under Bam's leadership.

Rutgers has a big advantage that we don't: Big Ten revenue sharing. On the other hand, they also have higher expenses than we do.

I was also curious why Rutgers needed a new AD. I see now that their previous one resigned. Seems he had an affair with their gymnastics coach. Was kinda hoping to find a quick example of a state U AD being dismissed for incompetence, for no particular reason.

I was just blown away at the expenses versus revenue, no one in that athletic department understands the premise behind budgeting.

In this case, no.. wouldn't want to have Bamford somehow ruin Stevie Wonder and his music too.

About 20 minutes after this, 98.5 used You Haven't Done Nothing to come back from a commercial break. I half expected Beetle to go on a Bamford rant again.

I chuckled.
