Mater Dei RB Justin Lewis has committed Massachusetts, per his IG

The "Orange County Register" ranks him as the 2nd best running back in Orange County. Orange County, CA is a huge hotbed of high-level recruits. The article is behind a paywall so I can't link it. Not a superstar, but a good get for us. He has 13 offers: just about all of the Ivies and all 3 service academies.

I saw yesterday on 24/7 we had a verbal from a skill position player from Mater Dai and figured that was a huge get for us.

For those who might've missed it, UMass landed another 2026 commitment from Maurice Barnes Jr. a couple days ago.

Barnes Jr. is a 6-foot-1 linebacker out of Bishop McDevitt (PA). According to 247, he received multiple Power-4 offers.

There must be a backstory - injury, off-field issues, etc. ? Why pick UMass over all of these other offers?
