Coach Frank Martin
Re: Coach Frank Martin
Has anybody heard anything in terms of the duration and amount of the compensation ? I presume its a minimum 5/yr K w/options to renew. Based upon recent discussions I am guessing its 1.8M-1.9M per yr + incentives. But those are just guesses on my part. Its always interesting to see the details of the terms.

I stand corrected on Martin's lineage.
Your other point, however, is absurd, and I won't even entertain it. Lemme guess... coming from an old white guy. Wow you're such a victim.
Anyone with two eyes will notice that Bamford has a pattern of hiring men (even for women's sports) and they trend very very white. Yes, it is concerning, just like it is in the NFL, and college sports all over.
Ah there is the Amherst /Northampton area I love so much. Can I get you a trophy as well?

Posted in the other thread, but check out the press release: https://umassathletics.com/news/2022/3/ ... coach.aspx
For those that say "he only went to one tournament in 10 years!", this release reminds us how incredible his achievements at South Carolina were. He matched the program wins record one year, broke it the next, won their first NCAA tourney game in over 40 years (let that sink in), and got them to their first ever SW16, E8, and F4. Goes to show how hard it is to win big at South Carolina, and he did it. UMass has it's challenges, and I have very little doubt that he is up to the challenge.
Hell yeah, well said!"Anya and I have never been more excited to call a place home like we are with UMass," said Martin. "It is evident that there is tremendous alignment in place to win and do it the right way. We cannot wait to be in Amherst and represent that community and our incredible University. Let's all get on this ride together, let's dream big and let's be relentless at making our dreams a reality. Let's win! Go UMass!"

UMass has not yet disclosed length or compensation from Martin’s contract.

I'd be surprised if he didn't report on the full details at some point soon.

One thing I think we can all agree on is that the upcoming offseason ramblings on this board just got infinitely more optimistic and probably a lot more readable as well!
Re: Coach Frank Martin
I'm fucking amped!!I haven't had a real reason to be excited about UMass hoops since I enrolled at the best school in the world. That changed today and I wish I lived closer to campus because I would have made season ticket deposits before I left work.
Re: Coach Frank Martin
By Utica, NY if you want to take a little detour on the way (assuming that is out of the way) lol

Re: Coach Frank Martin
I am so glad we hired a well known experienced coach.
Re: Coach Frank Martin
Upstate, I went 4 years in Syracuse and only missed one home game. It can be done! Of course my staff cringed when I came in to work the day after.
Re: Coach Frank Martin
I just sent deposit for my season tix; reupping after a short hiatus.
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.

Floyd, I'd love to carpool. Could you swing by Phoenix?
